My creative Space.

The last week of the school term has been an exciting one with Italian day, performances, costumes, projects and parties. Because of this my creative space this week seems pretty similar to last week's. I'm still cutting up vintage sheets, making bloomers, dresses, ruffles and playing around with shapes and sizes.

I am loving cutting up these beautiful old sheets but I am so aware of saving every scrap and utilising as much of the piece as possible as they seem to be harder and harder to find .

The automatic buttonhole on my machine is playing up so I have had to improvise and therefore the dresses aren't quite as floaty as when I started. Love that zipper foot!

Pop on over to Kootoyoo for more creative spaces.

  3. Kate, those bloomers are just precious! You're very clever. The number of people buying from op-shops these days does make it a little harder to find the treasures. What a shame the secret of "thrift-shopping" is out!

  4. so very pretty! I know what you mean about the sheets. It seems every man and his dog go op shopping for vintage sheets, and they only leave behind the icky poly/cotton ones!

  10. They are all adorable Kate! I suppose it is a shame that everyone is buying those old sheets, but at least now I hope they are all being turned into beautiful things like your clothing and not thrown in the rubbish.

  15. I'm guilty of buying up old sheets too and have just bought an old pattern book for making little girls clothes with that I was going to consider using sheets and other vintage fabrics for. Hope you don't mind. Of course that is if I ever manage to finish all the projects already started. Cherrie
