This week's theme queen Pilgrim wants to know;
Where do you retreat to for that sanity-regaining break? I am interested in what or where in your home is your sanctuary.
My home has no such place. I have no special chair or corner. I am talked to when I am in my bedroom, on my sewing machine or on the toilet. In fact the toilet is probably the joke telling or question asking place of choice, because whilst sitting there I am a captive audience.
With a crochet hook in my hand and some cotton in my lap I can relax and unwind. I can be part of whatever it is that is going on but I can also be off in my own little world. If I am creating and my hands are busy, then I am ok.

My sanctuary is not a place, it is the contents of my red bag.

"for goodness sake, can't I even go to the toilet on my own...do you have to follow me !
aah...now I understand !

Great little port!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping the toilet/captive audience thing would wear off soon, oh well, looks like I have a while to go yet!
Great idea, having some portable peace - you gotta take it where you can get it! I love how you always have your own unique take on a theme. It always make me think a little harder (after the fact!)I LOVE the cherries too!
ReplyDeletewhat lovely things you make..it's nice to lose oneself in creativity
ReplyDeleteLove those Cherries Kate and I'm hearing you on the captive audience front.
ReplyDeleteYep the toilet really is the last place to get away from them. I love that you can immerse yourself in your Craft for that precious 5 minutes.
ReplyDeleteYour little red bag sounds as though it is a sanity keeper Kate, perhaps I need one of those sometimes. I had to giggle when I read about being talked to on the toilet, my daughter still does that sometimes but when she was little she used to follow me everywhere! Your crochet looks beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I never realised until now why they always follow me to the toilet - clever little cherubs aren't they! I love your bag & your cherries too.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that the busiest Mums have the busiest fingers? Yours must be on the go all the time. Here's to lots more years like the past happy 10.
ReplyDeleteoh what a cute red bag! and those cherries are AMAZING! i want a whole crocheted tree of them!
ReplyDeletethanks for playing along with my theme this week!
Oh sweet and funny! That little red case has a big important job!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a beauty case just like that but in blue! lol
ReplyDelete& ditto along with everyone. The loo isn't quiet. I don't even bother with the door anymore! The kidlet & dog just follow me anyway! Thank goodness I have the loooong loo! hahahahaha
love the cherries!
Love your red bag, and I so relate to the toilet scenario and why do they insist on asking questions when you have your head under the shower? Thanks for your comments too, crochet is a place of ones own!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day
Ah yes, the toilet. Actually it's the cat whose most annoying in there, she thinks it's a guaranteed scratch under the chin.
ReplyDeleteLove the red bag!
Kate, it's a wonderful red bag. I love, love, love those cherries. I have just made a cherry pie for our dinner!
ReplyDelete5 minutes peace- I am still thinking about that one!
Some of my best thoughts used to be conjured up in the loo ... that's probly why we've known it as the throne ... your red bag is tops ... fabulous post ... pop round anytime you like there's always room for one more. xo
ReplyDeleteI adore your little red case & all the goodies & peace it holds! How special to be able to take your calming, relaxing & not least pretty, little peace of calm wherever & whenever you go!
ReplyDeleteHa! It's so nice to meet you! I have three little ones too and really not much peace if ever. I love your cherries and craft box images.
ReplyDeleteJust another advantage of an outside toilet!!!
ReplyDeleteThe creative process is a chance to have 5 mins to self i think...
What a wonderful way to get your 5 minutes Kate! An angle I would never have thought of for the theme this week. :)
