So the tiger finally got the beanie she's been asking for. Roar!
I hated sewing up the sleeves and body though and the next pattern I make will definitely be a seamless one.
The pattern was easy to follow for a beginner like me. I am pretty excited with the end result considering it was the first time I've attempted eyelet lace, increasing/decreasing and working on circular needles.

I also received this bundle of gorgeousness from the lovely Cath in a swap we did.
I love it all but that butterfly brooch takes my breath away. I love it!
Actually, I started this one last night as I was sewing up the seams of the pink one. Sort of like a reward to myself. One bit of sewing - one row of knitting. It goes faster that way.
I hope you are having a lovely Thursday. My girls are having a home day and are building a doll's house from the new printer box.
Off to make them some lunch now.
See ya! X
Kate you are too clever. How on earth do you pull it all off? I can't knit much but I'm sure I couldn't do that sort of knitting as a beginner. It's turned out so well and the colour is lovely. I have their wool charts and must order some from them at some time. Are the cottons nice to work with?
ReplyDeleteKate it's GORGEOUS!!!! My god woman that cardie is to die for...I wonder if there is an adult pattern. Take a bow mrs...thats one mighty fine job!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so clever! The cardi & the beanie are great & I love the colour of what you are working on next...
ReplyDeleteIt really is beautiful with that lace bit, how wonderful! I do like that beanie an awful lot as well.
ReplyDeleteI have finally cleaned up my crafty spot and now can locate my yarn, hopefully a crochet beanie will soon appear. Thank you for the inspiration.

Oh my god Kate, you've done it again, the cardie is totally gorgeous and well that beanie-what can I say except can I please order a big one for a big kid like me?!
ReplyDeleteYeah the sewing up used to get me down with knitting, drove me nuts, because wonk doesn't quite work in knitting seams, I think the way you go between the sewing up and the new project is a great idea. xo
WOW!!! Kate that jumper really is divine and I cannot believe that it's beginner level - it looks too good! I am in love with your tiger beanie and those fabric bits have me drooling (of course!) Love the dark grey of your new knit too. Hope it's been a great day for you :) Kx
ReplyDeleteI love the cardigan and I love the colour of the new project what yarn is it?
ReplyDeleteKate, you are amazing. I love how you embrace something new, you jump in and create something gorgeous and tricky I might add. You are such as inspiration, thanks for continuing to share
ReplyDeletep.s I still owe you an email
oh!! I want to be a tiger too!! So cute!!
ReplyDeleteWell done Kate, that cardy looks stunning! I love that colour of the next knitting project you've started.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure- the cardi is so pretty...whenever I see a beanie with ears it reminds me of when Busy was a baby in the sling poking her little head out with her brown beanie with ears- aged about 6months- she was so cuuuuuuuuute!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the eyelet pattern! You're so brave for launching into such a pattern so early on in your knitting journey - I've been knitting for a number of years and have only just done my first piece on a circular needle. Currently I'm finding Fair Isle very addictive.
ReplyDeleteI do not like the sewing up part of knitting either! I knitted three jumpers this season and had them all knitted before I started any of the sewing up.
the cardi is so beautiful Kate what an amazing job I cannot believe you are a beginner knitter you must be pulling our legs! I only say that you realise because I am hopeless at it, been doing scarves for years now!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI want an adult version too!
ReplyDeleteFabulous knitting!!
I love the way you threw yourself in the deep end!
Wow - super duper cute beanie, I love it! And my goodness that cardi is divine... hard to believe you've only just started knitting!

You are so clever. I have only just started knitting, prompted by my 6 year old daughter who wanted to learn. I am currently knitting patches and she is halfway through a scarf. I am nowhere near learning to read a pattern and am in awe of your skills. I love the little cardigan.
ReplyDeleteYour swap fabrics are fab too.
Have a lovely weekend.
