Time away.

We've spent the last few days at the beach.

The five of us.

Not a proper holiday, just a couple of days to mark the end of the busy season and the start of the quieter season on the farm.

We've eaten yummy food, drunk lots of coffee, scootered, knitted, op shopped, read, played schools, celebrated Mothers' Day, watched a few episodes of this and played at the beach.

We haven't collected eggs, done the farm chores, carried wood and kept a fire going, or done any deliveries. Its been lovely.

We have lots of decisions to make before the new season starts, but for now its been great just to take some time out and relax and enjoy one another.

We're going home in the morning. I think I'll leave a little sand in my boots just to remind me.

  6. Sounds wonderful! It's so important to take that time to sit, relax & spend time together without the familiar surroundings of home & the everyday things to do, even if it is just a few days..enjoy!

  8. 'Cuse the french but shiiiit, did I miss mother's day? I don't recall getting anything and I certainly didn't do anything for my mum. Someone put me out of my misery and tell me Mother's Day hasn't been in the last 2 weeks. Maybe you were referring to it figuratively and not the actually 'Mothers Day' - more like, it's felt like 'mother's day' every day that I've been holidaying with my kids over the school holidays. Beach shots are beautiful by the way and glad to hear you've relaxed. But I'm so confussed.

  11. Thanks for visiting my blog and putting me at ease - I was sure I'd done Mother's Day but I'm a shocker at remembering dates despite the family wall calendar. So, happy belated Mother's Day to you (should be every day really)and I hope you got spoiled.

  22. "Two weeks away it feels like the whole world should've changed
    But I'm home now
And things still look the same
I think I'll leave it till tomorrow to unpack
Try to forget for one more night
That I'm back in my flat on the road
Where the cars never stop going through the night
To a life where I can watch sunset
    I don't have time
    I don't have time"
