My creative space this week is green, green, green.
I'm using Woolganics, organic wool in the Gondwana colour way and I am smitten. Its the most gorgeous wool I have ever worked with, both the colour and the texture. Of course I love that it's Australian and organic too.
I love how this pattern is knitting up and am most excited to finish it.
Thank you for all your offers and suggestions about where to find another ball of BWM Forest. After posting my request on the BWM forum on Ravelry, I found a gorgeous woman who is going to deliver a ball to Bren at his stall at the Collingwood Children's Farm farmers' market this Saturday. She was even happy to swap wool for organic veg! Fancy that!

Now this one is really a bit of fun.
KAL stands for knit-a-long. Each week Ms Georgie releases a few lines of a pattern and the 200+ members who have signed up, knit those bits of pattern with no idea as to what we are in fact knitting.
That's right! It is a mystery pattern. We were told the amount of yarn we needed, and given the option of a boy pattern or a girl pattern, and a range of sizes and the rest is one big mystery.
The picture above is my step one completed and I have step two ready to go but it looks complicated and so I am waiting for a quiet moment (ha!) so I can concentrate.

Very green indeed. Pleased to hear you found your forest. I am doing Tikki's knit a long too (but was very keen and started the second bit before I photographed the first bit so no progress pics yet) and am truly loving it. Not a knitting geek at all.

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the MKAL and have finished step 2 for the boys and finally got a second 40cm needle so I have also started the girl one too! I'm loving the mystery but get strange looks from people when they ask - what's that? and I have to say don't know!

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shades of green they all are. I have started to knit Tikki's Sorello and had to rip back because I had 4 sts too many, but have now sat down and worked out how many increases for every second row so I should be right second time around. Mine is green too, although a much paler one than your gorgeous greens. Glad that you are getting another ball of forest too, ravelry is great for things like that.

The KAL sounds like so much fun! I hope she does another one when I don't have a newborn. Her stuff is so pretty.
