A moment in the pantry.

This afternoon in the midst of the post school, pre-after school activities chaos, this mama was locked in the pantry.

Funnily enough she liked it in there. A lot.

It was warm and dark, the sounds of the world were muffled and it smelled faintly of spices and porridge.

She wondered if perhaps she had been a monk in a previous life. A monk who had spent long periods of time meditating alone in a cave in a foreign land.

The quiet, the peace, the serenity. mmmmmmmmm

Then out of nowhere, all of a sudden the door opened and her farmer boy was pushed in the dark, quiet pantry too.

They're kissing! They're kissing! Came the chorus from outside.

So they did.

Bliss.

They didn't even care when the door was opened and they were caught in the act.

All too soon the moment was over. The smallest needed help with the toilet, the middle needed a jar opened and the feta spread and the eldest had to be driven to her hip hop class.

The day went on.

  3. Oh, this is so sweet.
Loving all of your caravan reveals Kate. It's gorgeous, vintage, hand-made and just lovely. Much caravan envy I have! - but so much excitement for you too :)
Hope you are still able to blog on the trip.

  4. Adorable, our current pantry (lucky to have one) doesn't allow standing room, although is a handy hiding spot for children - but i so totally plan to have kissing room in the one we're planning, yay for stolen moments when all is crazy in the household. You're probably a lot like me - never lose the passion for your husband & just don't being married to him a chore either. Love Posie

  5. Can you arrange to have a mobile pantry attached to the van? Mmm..smoochy smoochy! This reminds me for some reason of my friend locking her mother in their pantry years ago.( She was kind of cruel to her mum!) But instead of being stressed her mum actually reorganised the pantry! I think she enjoyed it actually. Maybe we all need to be locked away in a small space sometimes...especially if there are some sweet smells & loving involved...x

I recently delved into my pantry too when we moved house. Every packet contained a memory of ... what did I make with this... or mostly, why on earth did I buy this!

  17. Yep. Good luck with all that pantry kissing malarkey while three girls eat porridge for breakfast within the same square metre. IT'S GONNA BE A BLAST! (I actually mean that, truly).

PS. Twitter gone by the wayside now that new 'puter half working and I escaped alien abduction.

  27. Ah. I love a pantry.
We still have a spec behind our kitchen that was a pantry.
Left it there for a bathroom extension. Now I'm thinking a pantry to kiss in??
