The new issue of green magazine is out and we are in it. Yay!
There's a story I wrote about our caravan and our road trip, there are lots of pictures and it looks just ace!
We are all very excited indeed.
Green magazine is all about sustainable architecture and landscape design.
We love green. We love that it is a beautiful and environmentally conscious magazine. We love the feel of the paper, we love the photos and we love the design so much that we hired green and their designer Jenni to make our Daylesford Organics logo a few years back.
We are all pretty thrilled to have this gorgeous momento of our trip in our favourite magazine.
If you live in Australia, if you read my blog, if you leave me a comment with the word green in it, then you'll be in it to win it.
I'll draw the winner this weekend.
Good luck folks.
Happy travels. x
ps Check out the last time we had an article in green magazine here.
i am GREEN with envy over your fabulous trip how brave you are and the fantastic things you create ;)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you! Love the shot of the article inside, makes me long for the road again myself. Slowly working on a greener lifestyle at our place so I think I might have to pop out and grab a copy of the mag a lunch time.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a subscription to green mag!
ReplyDeletei fell across it recently at a school fair.
we are participating in Buy nothing New October- which means trying to be more mindful about how & what we consume.
we loved doing it so much we have rolled it into November too....
i had picked up the copies of the mag 2nd hand at the fair as we are looking at building an extension to accomodate our very large family & I LOVED seeing people who have ideas similar to ours- building in a sustainable and mindful way- being more green.
so.... i would love to win a subscription because I can't BUY one as it doesn't fit our 'buy nothing new' rules....but i love the mag and its great inspiration!
Green magazine sounds just down my ally -sounds very interesting reading. Congrats on your article.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a subscription Kate. Can't wait to read your article. Wheat another great memento of your trip.

How fabulous to see yourselves in a magazine that you love! I love Green! (not the colour so much though blech. :P)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting is that?!! To see your own travels in your fave magazine! What an awesome memento! We love Green too. It's also the colour of our house. And my favourite colour... BTW. I've caught snippets of your travels but not the whole thing... Huz has been filling me in. I'm saving it for a quiet moment to sit down and read like a book. I'm looking forward to that!
ReplyDeleteMy 9 year old son and Husband have just returned from their Annual Fishing trip together, in our tent. He didn't sleep that well with the wind and is now scouring eBay for a vintage caravan! Of course I have had them both read your blog....just might have to go and buy GREEN too!
ReplyDeleteThat's so fabulous guys! Congratulations :) Kx
ReplyDeletenot only do we love the magazine I am stoked you guys are in it. I am also happy to see you Mum and Farm Doc on holidays with you, Farm Doc looking well.

I actually think my BIL would love this mag as he is very green and if I'm lucky enough to win he might get it for Christmas although then I might be green with envy.

Katie
Congrats on being in Green mag. How exciting! I'm pretty sure that my building brother in law reads it regularly. I've just been having a catch up on your blog. your photos really are amazing - such a great reminder of your special trip.
ReplyDeleteEver since I read your article in Green I have been obsessed with looking at caravan sale sites to make our dream of a road trip for our family of 5, of a reality! You have even got me diving back into my stash of vintage fabric and making my last baby quilt- she is now 22 mths and I am running very late, so I needed the kick! thank you
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your green feature, how exciting!! I'll have to go & check it out..x
ReplyDeleteOooh I have something factual nerdy and relevant to share. Did you know that there is actually no such thing as pink in the light spectrum, it is just red and blue minus the GREEN. There is apparently a movement to change the name pink to MINUS GREEN. I would love to win this subscription and read all about the fact you seem to have left one of your children back with the dolphins or something. melx
ReplyDeleteAMAZINGLY WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteI will have to get someone to send me a copy!
Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, GREEN,Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink,

Love your blog and love Green magazine too.
ReplyDeleteDiana
Oh how I love your blog and Green magazine. You both remind me to live mindfully.
ReplyDeleteAnd a two years subscription would help me feel a little less green, I have a touch of gastro (sorry if that is too much information)
How cool is THAT!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteApart from the fact that green is my absolute best favourite colour and that I would love to read that green magazine and would also love to just pack up and travel like that for six months...I will not lobby for a subscription. Sigh. As I am residing a bit west from you all...couple of thousand kilo's west... in RSA :-) Sigh. taking myself out of the giveaway...
But hoping the one who wins it ENJOYS it!

ReplyDeleteGreen is my favourite colour..... and I know it's been said to death but it's the truth I am green with envy over your fantastic road trip.... I dream of such a holiday. I am also inspired by your organic farm and am looking into starting my own small market garden.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read your story in GREEN magazine and to also read other great stories for the next 2 years.
ReplyDeleteHooray Kate, off to find your Green article. I drank too much in Melbourne Cup festivities and am now feeling a little green...is that the kind of sentence you are after! I am just joking, I didn't really- but in case you are wondering I am loving picking my green asparagus at the moment!
ReplyDeleteDear Kate,

ReplyDeleteI love green. I'm knitting a green and black chevron scarf for my cousin. Today I wore a green knitted brooch made for me by a friend who lives on a farm with greenery everywhere. I just drank lemongrass and ginger tea from a green cup. A book I ordered with a green cover arrived today. We had yummy Japanese for dinner which had lots of green bits. My middle name means meadow which would have green grass and perhaps some buttercups.

Now that's a great souvenir of your trip and it looks like everyone is enjoying reading it. Put me in the draw for your awesome giveaway :-)
ReplyDeleteOur farm sits on a beautiful green hill in a beautiful green valley surrounded by gorgeous brown drought master cows. Eventually we hope to build our environmentally friendly home and as I haven't heard of this magazine before I'll keep a lookout for it and get it next time. I rarely buy magazines anymore; though I do subscribe to Country Style. That's it. Pleased to hear that you are all so very wrapped with your very own story in the mag. How exciting! Oh and don't bother putting me in the draw please; I'm rather well off and would be happy to support a magazine of this nature. Again, well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing me to this Green magazine, I love to educate my kids on being green and this would help!

What a great name "Green" for a magazine!!
ReplyDeleteI originally thought you might have posted some more crocheting!! I am always checking in to see what you have been hooking!! and very envious as to where you are in the caravan! I so want to convert our 'new' caravan to look like yours :) Happy Travels Kate and co x
Oh wow! You're so famous!! We're about to embark on a sustainable renovation, so any extra inspiration on GREENing our little home and garden would be much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favourite colour but that's just a coincidence because I really want to tell you about Froggy. He(I think it's a he) is the frog that scared the bejesus out of me the other day when I was watering my parsley (which is green, of course). He was mooching in around the pea straw mulch. He was camouflaged in the yellowey pea straw because my dear Froggy is NOT GREEN!
ReplyDeleteHappy trails,
Ab xx
Bugger! Someone else made the "green with envy" call! I love your gorgeous little caravan and reading about your trip makes me so happy! I saw a little red and pink caravan/vintage shop in Brisbane the other day and it made me think of you guys, not clothes!
ReplyDeleteCONGREENULATIONS!! Gosh you are a clever bunch!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool Kate, your crew looks ace in print! Hope I win; a subscription to Green would totes work as a chrissy present for a certain wannabe hippie. ;)
ReplyDeleteG-reatly envious you're on the

E-xcited we will be
E-xploring Australia soon ourselves.
N-othing like adventure & Green Magazine!
Hi Kate
ReplyDeleteI have been envious following your travels and love your caravan!
And of course would also love to win Green mag too! Justine
Green means everything good to me. Green means not greed... I think of plants, the sea, political parties that care and organisations that save whales. I see green in your pretty girls dresses and gorgoeus caravan and food that you grow. What better name for a mag featuring your story. Well Done! Rosalyn
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of Green before. It sounds brilliant and looks rather lovely from your pics too. How exciting to be featured! : )
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, what a good photo of your van. I must say that I am enjoying coming along with you all on your roadtrip.
ReplyDeleteI've just been out in the garden picking yummy green veggies for dinner - snow peas, spinach and lettuce for a salad and the very last of the broccoli. Must go and cook now as the hungry teenagers are pacing!
loving the green rows in your blanket! thank you for letting us share your amazing trip with you :)
ReplyDeleteoooh, i would greenly love such a green gift! happy travels :)
ReplyDeleteGreen's my favourite colour!! I never get mags so had never heard of Green the magazine before you mentioned it. I'm so out of touch!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for ages and especially while you have been on your big trip around the block. We did a similar thing years ago but with only one child so hats off to you. We saw huge growth in out daughter during that time as she was experiencing and sharing things with us each day as you no doubt do with your 3 girls. Wonderful concentrated family time! Have been green with envy reading about those wonderful W.A. beaches especially as we're still coping with the leftovers of winter down south ;-) I got a surprise to see you and family and the old blue van in this last issue of the Green magazine and thoroughly enjoyed your article. It's a great magazine and I especially love the lifestyle idea articles that are close to my heart as I've always been a bit into self sustaining DYI living. BTW love your writing style and accompanying pictures and hope there might be a book coming down the track after your caravan odyssey is over?
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh looking out my window at rolling green paddocks......... love your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIve been following your blog keeping note of beautiful green places on the West coast to visit when me, my partner and 2 boys hit the wide open road early next year so looking forward to the adventure and i love reading your blog x

ReplyDeletethese pics are so sweet Kate, what a wonderful adventure you are all having.
ReplyDeletetried baking with duck eggs the other day, turned out perfect..and here I was thinking they'd be green inside ;) ♥
I was so excited to read my daughter's school newsletter tonight and find out they are continuing to "go green" with a challenge to reduce the amount of rubbish in lunchboxes. The school already has a newspaper recycling initiative, a reduce, reuse, recycle philosophy and a thriving organic vegie patch (that supplies a Monday Munchies lunch program!)
ReplyDeleteAnd the school colours are GREEN and gold!
Happy big birthday coming up!
Ooh count me in!
ReplyDeleteGreen, Green, Green!
ReplyDeleteI love Green mag. And how excitng to have your trip featured. I have a copy of a magazine article on my grandparents (on their suburban sustainable lifestyle)from around 20 years ago. I treasure it. Perhaps your grandkids have this mag sitting in a box under their spare bed one day. x t.

ReplyDeleteWearing green, reading green, my favourite :)
ReplyDeleteI am sitting on the steps to the beach at Cosy corner in my green pjs with stars surfing ( the only kind I do) as I chase a wifi signal. We have been free camping in the greenery of a beautiful sheltered bay.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
I'm sitting here on my motel bed that has much green in the doona cover.
ReplyDeleteI'm travelling the same part of the country as you are, in a very green part of WA.
Beautiful.
Hope you are not feeling to green and seedy tomorrow - have a great Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing to be featured in the Green Magazine! My hubby (David) loves reading that magazine :)
ReplyDeleteWe have yet to paint the outside of our bus, but I reckon a green colour would look cool :)

My sisters favorite color has always been green, then she married became Mrs Green!
Great blog,
Karen
I would love this!! We are in the process of going green in our house, garden and lifestyle and this would really help inform and motivate.
ReplyDelete
