(The fanciest caravan park bathroom so far in Mandalay in Busselton).
(Birthday me.)
(Birthday lunch.)
(Busselton pier).
(cake!)
We woke up and had birthday cuddles in bed. We ate K shaped pancakes, I opened prezzies and unwrapped cards. I chatted on the phone and got sung to and serenaded with the ukulele. We ate lunch on the water, made birthday speeches and cheersed with bubbles. We walked to the end of Busselton jetty and back. We made and ate delicious pizzas for dinner. I blew out the candles of a caravan baked chocolate cake. We watched a few episodes of Modern Family before bed. And I wore my birthday tiara all day long!! A very happy birthday indeed.
Thirdly. The green magazine giveaway. In the tradition of road trip giveaways, the camp site number chose the winner. In this case it seemed most fitting for the guests to decide. I am so very, very lucky that my parents flew over to join us on the road for my birthday week and their site number is three.
So number three it is. Comment number three is Miss Gourmet Girlfriend Ruth!! Hooray!!
Hugest congratulations Ruth. I hope you love your two year subscription to green magazine and find it endlessly inspiring.
Fourthly, I have another great giveaway coming up very soon so watch this space.
(Yarn bombed chair in front of Margaret River Wool shop.)
(Gorgeous chair and my minestrone lunch at Samudra in Dunsborough).
Thanks so much for traveling with me.
See ya! xx
Were you disappointed with the wool shop in MR? I don't know what I expected but it wasn't that. It just seemed a bit too regular retail for me. I'd be interested in your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThe weather hasn't been very good now has it. Were you blown off Busselton jetty? Must have got close. On a hot day my partner jumps off at the end and swims back as I walk carrying all his stuff. I think I might be ripped off there?!?!
Anyway - hope you managed to eat lots of fine food and drink lots of great wine today in MR. Not really beach weather yet... and on overcast days the sharks come out to play.
Congratulations Ruth!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a lovely birthday week Kate :)
Belated birthday greetings from Ballarat, Kate. My husband and I came back home on Sat. morning after a week in a little corner of WA - MR, Perth, Freo, Albany and places in between; loved it. And I did wonder if I'd recognise your van if I saw it on the road... Keep on enjoying your happy travels; I am loving reading your stories. All the best to you all.
ReplyDeleteBelated very happy birthday wishes to you Kate, it seems you had a very special day. A great post from your mum too, such lovely photos.

We stayed at Mandalay as well Kate. The people were gorgeous and it is the sort of place where they have thought of everything-herb gardens, hairdryers, washing trolleys, heated pools, irons and ironing boards. Absolutely amazing!! Glad to see you had a lovely bday. Spent a decent amount of money at the wool shop as well and have started another blanket to prepare for Tasmania. take care...
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday you. Love that tiara, x
ReplyDeleteLoving the journey, Kate. x
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful day. I went out and bought myself the 'green' magazine. Wow. I know what you mean about the feel and smell of the paper. I'm really impressed with the whole mag. When I saw the photo of the bed set up in the country side I was sold. Im going to get a subscription so thanks for giving it a little exposure and it indeed has done for you. Lovely stuff.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! so very happy to win this i can't actually believe it!! It tops a great week of good news for me.
ReplyDeleteThankyou so so much!
And I hope the rest of your forties continue as they have started. xxxxx
Congrats Ruth.
ReplyDeleteI wondered why you were wearing a jumper in that first snap. I am suprised that it is that chilly.

I looked out for you when I was down south this weekend. Lovely to hear all went well in my favourite part of the West. You will love Albany. I also went to the wool shop love it and the friendly staff. Yahava coffee is lush too. Happy travels.
ReplyDeleteOn the day of my 40th birthday people told me that it is the best life period between 40 and 50.
ReplyDeleteBetween 50 and 60 is not bad either, it depends on your attitude!
