Organic wool giveaway. Yay!

This week I got the most wonderful package of wool in the mail from Suzy Hausfrau in Canberra.

Isn't getting parcels of supplies in the mail just the best thing ever!

A few weeks ago I noticed Renae (from Suzy Hausfrau) tweeting about a shipment of certified organic, naturally dyed yarn that had just come into her online shop.

Some day in the not too distant future I hope to have my own line of certified organic wool, but until then I am happy to hungrily read and learn the stories of anyone else doing it already.

So Renae tweeted the organic wool and I visited her gorgeous online shop to check it out for myself. And OH MY GOODNESS, the gloriousness of the colours and the names of the colours made me want to know the whole story right away.

So I clicked on the Swans Island website and drooled over stories of antique farmhouses and century old techniques, and natural dyes and extra fine merino wool and the love of the handmade. It really is such an inspiring story.

I am such a firm believer that we should use the best ingredients we can afford in all our making. And this wool is the best, softest, most environmentally friendly, sustainably created, luscious wool I think I have ever come across.

Suzy Hausfrau is the only Australian stockist of the Swans Island wool.

Suzy Hausfrau is a gorgeous online shop specialising in exquisite yarns, patterns and needles from all around the world.

The super lovely Renae from Suzy Hausfrau has ever so generously offered to giveaway to one of your guys two 100 gram skeins of the glorious Swans Island certified organic merino wool in the fingering weight.

200 hundred grams would be enough to make a cardigan, a shawl, several scarves, hats, socks or baby items. Check out some of the patterns on Ravelry here.

I'm thinking about a shawl or braving my first pair of socks with mine. But in the meantime, it is so wonderfully soft that I can't help stroking it against my face and squishing it while I decide.

So if you would love to receive a Suzy Hausfrau brown paper package filled with deliciousness in the mail. If you would love to rub this soft and squishy wool against your face. If you would love a chance to knit or crochet or weave with some of the most delicious yarn in the whole world...then this giveaway is for you.

Leave me a comment and let me know which colour of the Swans Island wool you would choose for your two skeins were you to win. I'd also LOVE to know what you think you might make with it.

We'll choose a winner next week.

In the mean time check out the;
Suzy Hausfrau shop.

Good luck.
And I hope you have the most wonderful weekend.
I'm off to do the farm chores and then to a wedding. Yay!

Bye! xx

  1. I'll second your comments about that yarn. I bought some seasmoke for my son but made a lovely cowl which his wife has claimed. It's gorgeous stuff. As I said, I bought it but some giveaway raspberry or beetroot would be wonderful.

I'll also endorse your comments about Susy Hausfrau. Practically same day service and service with a smile, too. I recommend her to everyone.

  2. All the colours are amazing, but I think I would choose Marine, and make something in that lovely blue for my 2 boys!!

  3. Your pictures make me want to reach in and touch it! Oh boy, it's all so beautiful, I don't know if I could possibly choose between the rose quartz, sea smoke and charcoal! And after seeing your poncho effort, I think I'd have to make myself a wrap or another shrug, but then there's the baby bits and bobs..who knows!

  4. I don't think I could go past the teal. My best friend is pregnant. For her first child I knitted a beautiful little newborn cardi. I think it would be nice for her 2nd to have one aswell & this yarn would be gorgeous as a soft cardigan for a newborn bub.
Love the new blog branding by the way.

  6. I read your enthusiastic review of the new yarn so I went and bought a skein in Oatmeal . I would love some Charcoal and Logwood to go with it and then maybe make a love Hap Blanket like the Ysolda pattern . I love Suzy Hausfrau shop and I met her and fondled her yarns at the Celebration of Wool in Canberra .
thank you both for the giveaway

  7. I would absolutely love the beetroot one, but I am unsure what I would make with it right now. It's currently 32 degrees here in Brisbane so my mind's gone a bit blank there :-)

  9. It all looks just so gorgeous... I love the potential of it all. I'm just about to finish my very first scarf - knitting inspired by your fine self. I'd love some of this gorgeous yarn in winterberry to attempt a cardi for my daughter... I'm a big believer in all little girls having a red cardi. I'll have to knit it in a few sizes too big as I'm sure it'll take me forever, but I'm up for the challenge!

  10. It's a toss up between the Beetroot, the Indigo and the Winterberry. If I won, I'd have to make a difficult decision!

  15. Spring green. Gorgeous!
And for a bit of unsolicited advice Kate - I'd think twice about using it for socks. I've only once made socks out of pure wool and they wore through in a handful of wears. I was devestated. A bit of google research revealed the reason practically all sock yarns contain a percentage of nylon, and I've seen for myself that the socks I knit for the mister definitely last much longer the higher proportion of nylon. He wears them in work boots - 20% nylon lasts for literally years of wear, 10% for a couple of years. Also merino isn't a hard wearing breed - bfl or Corriedale will do a much better job. Keep this luscious stuff for neck or hand wear.

  16. Beautiful! My choice would be seasmoke - What a wonderful heavenly name. I would make the Alpine Frost Scarf (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/AliciaPaulson/alpine-frost-scarf), and it would rest on My Yellow Peacoat in Winter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hmmm any? Winter berry, indigo, charcoal:)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Maize - definitely Maize. Probably make a simple cowl with it?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ohhh the beetroot is yummers! I would love to make a shawl as a gift .

    ReplyDelete
  20. OOoh so luscious! I think having just completed a throw in rich rad, a neutral tone would be great to compliment it. Perhaps Natural or oatmeal and I would make a cushion or 2 with a textured stitch - cables or popcorns perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love the red you have posted. Gorgeous. And Renae has awesome customer service too

  22. Charcoal, Garnet, Maize, Teal. I can't decide. Is it weird that I'm wanting to rub my cheek against the computer screen?? I rarely knit with fingering weight, but can see some lovely little close-to-the-skin vests for my girls. I love Suzy Hausfrau, so thanks for letting me know about this gorgeous new yarn. xx

  23. Sometimes you just have to gRASP the BERRY and make some gorgeous shawls, scarves or beanies with your yarn while having a cup of TEA Leaves. You can look out the window while hooking and watch the GArNET on the dam or admire the INDIGO VINTAGE LILAC flowering in the garden. If all else fails you can't BEET a ....... ;-)

  24. This yarn looks so fabulous!!!! You are really tempting me...I went to Suzy Hausfrau on line shop....It's so hard to choose a color: they are all beautiful! I'm indecisive between Indigo+Marine (to knit something for me, like a huge shawl) or Rasperry+Seasmoke (to crochet a lap blanket for my pink couch in my crafty room!).....hard decisions...
Anyway, thank you for this chance,
    happy weekend, xxx Alessandra

  25. Its almost too hard to choose and check out the yardage on those skeins 480m!
I have been planning a light summery charcoal cardigan . . so I think I would choose the charcoal colour and knit a Vanadium by Lisa Mutch. That would make me very happy indeed.

You have picked a stunning colour! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. How beautiful! It was a hard decision between Winter Thyme and Teal, but I think I'd pick teal :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ohh the choice is hard, but I would have to choose the Rasberry or Garnet and crochet something for the kids room. I have been thinking about some cute crochet pillows for their beds and these colours would go perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What gorgeous colours...and organic to boot. I just love, love, anything teal so teal it is. I can see a sumptuous lacey knit scarf for myself or a hat with matching mittens for my grand daughter.
Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Raspberry would be my pick - and how nice it is of you and Suzy Hausfrau to offer this!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh my! How to limit it... I would probably stick with the blues... marine, indogo, sky blue! Beautiful! (love your new header too!)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think it's Spring Green for me, and I'd turn my skeins into a shawl - perhaps Summer Solstice Lace Shawl (by Wendy Knits) that I have had my eye on for late summer evening knitting.

So glad to find a local (online) retailer of beautiful yarns.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh Kate could you possibly make this yarn sound more desirable?? For me its a tough choice but would come down to a toss up between indigo and teal. I like me a bit of variegation :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ahh, yes.. I've been drooling over that wool too! If I was the lucky winner of the wool, methinks I'd a skein each of Charcoal & Seasmoke to make something stripey with. Mmm, yes, something stripey for me!

  39. This is the best giveaway ever. My new grandaughter in the U.K. Would love something handknitted in the beautiful yarn. Maybe beetroot or sky blue. She is just 6 weeks old and tells me she likes handknits from natural yarns and nothing too cutesy! (I think that was her mother talking)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'd definitely make a shawl from the Charcoal. I think I'd need a darker colour to go with my handmade wardrobe.

  42. I have just been to the wool shop and have bought some luscious blue wool. My nanna and I are going to go home now and get cosy, and she is going to teach me how to knit cable. I had no idea that there was an organic wool blend available in Australia and I will certainly be going to the website to look-my aim is to make Chef a cable jumper in Navy Blue or Grey.

I'm quite taken with shawls at the moment :-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Teal! No, beetroot! Aagh! So difficult to decide. I think maybe two beetroot ones, or a beetroot and a teal one. Hmmm... I like the Indigo too. I would love to knit myself a cardigan. I think I would go for two teal skeins. I don't have to absolutely decide right now, do I? Thanks Kate and Renae, for such a lovely giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hiya Kate,

I'm keen on Maize - my sweet small is a yellow fiend. But I'm thinking of my mum who is the most SUPERB creator of woolen marvels (despite a lanolin allergy that means she has to knit in cotton gloves - imagine that!). She's been most unwell over the last few months and some of her only truly bright moments amongst all the poking and prodding has been working on her never ending project wonders. She isn't well enough to go to the shops just now, so she relies on her cards from Bendigo, Nundle and Biggan to get her through. I know she's really missing the joy of surrounding herself with new colours and textures and that she'd really like to make herself her 'wrapped with love' shawl. A pattern of her own devising that she has made for countless friends when they need a little extra special loveliness in their lives. Something she really needs just now. I know she'd love beetroot.

    xx

  76. Such beautiful wool, wish I could stroke it! The pretty Rose Quartz is calling me, I really feel the need for pink in my life at the moment, I don't know why as I have always worn dark colours and would say my favourie colour is blue but pink is definately calling my name! I think I would do battle with my nemesis - Socks!

  87. The Winter Thyme just jumps out at me. It's that time of year in Mid Michigan where we are thinking about bundling up. I love winter wear but it always seems so "dark", I'd love to make a scarf and/or hat and/or fingerless mitts in this color and yarn to brighten up the dark winter jacket! All the colors are amazing for sure and I can only imagine how luxuriously warm the yarn actually is!

  94. What gorgeous yarn! I'm ripped and torn between the Winter Thyme (partly for the name), Teal (love the colour blend) and Indigo (love the name and blues are my fave).

I'd possibly go with another pair of socks. My second pair ever, the first were way easier than I thought - I can recommend knitting a pair if you are still considering them. A scarf or little cardy could be nice too.

So many possibilities but I'm leaning toward some teal socks.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful yarn.

So a cowl or a shawl that can be for my girls and I to share, and perhaps a slouchy beanie if it would go that far!

    ReplyDelete

I have to keep knitting down my stash so I can justify adding to it.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Oh dear, I've never been good at making decisions! My shortlist would be Indigo, Beetroot or Teal. This wool sounds amazing. I've never valued my crafting enough to spend the money on quality materials, but I think I'm getting there. I would like to make a cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Oooooh - these photos really do make me want to nuzzle up to the screen. I'd love to knit a stole for my mum this winter and this wool would make it so special. But which colour - they are all so enticing? I think I would plump for Seasmoke as it looks and sounds so romantic x

February surprise jacket (Elisabeth Zimmermann) for myself. I have been waiting for the right wool to come along. Since I can't buy anything new this month as I am doing the "buy nothing new for a month",this would be the chance to get some beautiful wool in an alternative fashion! You would have to send it to the Netherlands though because that is where I live, I am into the similar stuff as you are, funny how people from the other side of the world can be similar. Enjoy reading your blog, interesting as your seasons are totally the opposite of ours, thanks, Emmelie

  122. How how awesome this wool is *sigh* I think I'd choose the Teal one and have a go at a Whisper Cardi...

    ReplyDelete
  123. What a great giveaway! Seasmoke... would look great on my sons! They're both small, so two skeins would be more than enough!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Kate, this yarn is just lovely! I would choose the Indigo. I want to make a little shawl for the Rehearsal at my son's upcoming wedding. It would match my dress perfectly!!

    ~Best to you!!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Ooh lovely! I'd go raspberry and winter thyme for a stripey snugly hat. Can't beat a stripe and pink and green are so fab together. So fingers crossed and thanks xx

    ReplyDelete
  126. Oooh, you sell it perfectly, the yarn sounds lovely....the red is stunning, but seeing the colours al together I think I would (after much scratching of my head) choose the beetroot.....I think i would maybe knit a shawl....thank you for the opportunity to join in a lovely giveaway.

  127. I LOVE the garnet, winter thyme and teal!!!! I LOVE the teal sooo much! I definitely want to make something for me to wear so I can feel the soft, warm squishiness!!!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Such beautiful colours to choose from - I'm wavering between teal or a skein each of sea smoke and natural. Have so many things on my project list i could make, A Boxy http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/boxy, a Still Light www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/still-light-tunic an Audrey http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/audrey-in-unst, a lace shawl, a baby blanket. Too many projects not enough time.

    ReplyDelete
  129. How hard it was for me to pick just one color but I think I would go with the INDIGO> I do like many of the others colors as well.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Beetroot or teal. A shawl would be my project or a scarf for my daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Goodness, so many colours, so hard to decide. However, I think I'd choose teal because it seems to have green and blue tones in it and I really like it when wool is not just one block colour.
I'm not sure what I'd make. Maybe some baby things, maybe a lightweight cardigan for summer to put over lovely tea dresses.
A lovely and exciting giveaway. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Two of my friends have knitted cardigans lately and it has inspired me to give it a go. This yarn would be fabulous - the garnet is definitely my colour.

And to have your own organic yarn line - that would be awesome!

  133. Hi Kate, thanks for bringing to our attention this lovely yarn. I am a beginner knitter, but completely agree with your philosophy that we should use the best quality and most ethically sourced materials for our crafty projects. At the moment I am sticking to very simple patterns but always using the most beautiful yarn I can find, and let it do the talking! As such (and still being in my beginner 'scarf period') I would love to be making my fabulous mum an Ascot scarf out of the gorgeous winterberry yarn for Christmas. And I'm sure one would sneak into my scarf collection too. And maybe a beanie! Thank you for your lovely blog, and also to Renae for donating the yarn! Sarah

    ReplyDelete
  134. Ohh, so lovely! I had to ask my younger daughter for her favourite pick as it is her turn for a knit. She went for Beetroot and I concur, I think I would love to knit some of that yummy yarn. A cardigan for a 2.5 year old in beetroot yarn is in the queue!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Soo hard to choose! But probably 'vintage lilac' (or was it lavender?) I would love to try my first cardigan. I would have to finally buy that top down knitting book I've got on my amazon wish list too. That wool looks heavenly. I haven't knitted for awhile but I've decided on the scarf pattern for my best girlfriend and all I've wanted to do this weekend is knit, but I don't know what I've done with the wool she chose!

    ReplyDelete
  136. I would choose winterberry which is so rich and warm and make the panda pattern poncho or a shawl and some crochet bowls if there was any left!!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Soooo gorgeous! I've been drooling over this yarn in the LSY where I was on vacation this summer in Maine, but couldn't swing bringing any home with me... I think I'd pick either Indigo or Logwood, and make something luscious for myself!

    ReplyDelete
  138. I think I'd choose the Logwood, or maybe Indigo.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Oh that Beetroot wants to come to my house!! I would quickly work up some bowls to be felted. YUM!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Hmm I think the sea smoke or sky blue could make me move beyond the scarf!
    Such lovely colours!!

    ReplyDelete
  141. It looks so beautiful. I think the Charcoal and Vintage Lilac would make a stunning Stripe Study Shawl. Can't wait to see what you make with that gorgeous red...

    ReplyDelete
  142. Kate ,i would love to knit with this wool, your description fills me with longing to win as i could never afford to buy this wool. I would choose Sky Blue or Marine & would knit a gorgeous scarf so it's soft against my old skin .

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh what a wonderful giveaway and I have never before been to this shop so thanks so much for the gentle shove to check it out. I would choose either the "Raspberry" or the "Seasmoke" if I were to be so lucky to win this.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Such wonderful yarn! Difficult choice, but I'd turn Winter Thyme into a shawl, probably the Acadian Shawl pattern on Ravelry! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  145. Ooooo, what a lovely giveaway. Is this open to everyone, other than all you lucky people who live in Australia? If so, then my choice would be Indigo for make some socks to keep me warm in what will be my first Bulgarian winter, where -30C is not uncommon.

It's been lovely catching on on your blog, after weeks with no internet. Quite surreal really, here I am starting a new life in a new country, living on the side of a mountain, with killer views, but still comforted my my fav blogs.

  146. It is hard to choose. I agree with you on the names, they are lovely. But I'd go for charcoal and I have been wanting to make a cardigan I found on Ravelry called 'Deco' for a while now after coming back to knitting from a long RSI absence. I think the charcoal will make this cardi very flexible.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I love the "maize" and I would use it to knit a beautiful cabled cushion.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I would pick vintage lilac and charcoal to crochet some flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hi Kate - gorgeous yarn, you lucky lucky person! For me it would have to be the Logwood, firstly because I love all things neutral but also because of the name! Is it not the best name ever??? And what would I make, well, it would have to be Glenna's Lakeshore Shawl which is so dreamy (see http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lakeshore-shawl). Good luck with your choice and project! xxx

  150. I love Suzy Hausfrau's shop and would love the opportunity to try the Swans Island wool. I would knit my toddler boy a wee little vest to keep his chest warm for next winter, perhaps Tikki's fratello or zig vest. I would also love to try something different from the usual boy palette and go for the Winter Thyme or Maize.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Ooh, I love it all! I think the indigo is the one I would choose and knit a lovely cardigan for my gorgeous girl. It looks so soft and would definitely pass her 'itchy' test!
Thank you for your lovely blog - you have inspired me to knit a milo vest (it's almost finished too!)

  155. Wow! what an awesome giveaway - thank you to both of you ladies. I wandered over from Bunny Mummy's blog <3
The color of wool that pulled the hardest at my heart was Beetroot - isn't that purple color just gorgeous!? I'd love to knit a pretty shawl-like scarf to wear :)

  156. What heavenly colours! I love them all.

I would love to give two beautiful bundles of this woolly goodness to my very crafty mother in law. She lovingly crocheted an absolutely gorgeous little blanket for our youngest baby girl which was absolutely loved by us all. Sadly, it was recently taken from our pram while we were at story time at our local library and we are all quite devastated at losing this treasured item. I would choose the seasmoke (amazing and unique colour and love the name!) with highlights or details in rosé quartz.

    ReplyDelete
  157. That yarn is beautiful! What a thoughtful giveaway.
I love the color you picked, but I really love Logwood. I think it would be beautiful knit up in a wrap or shawl.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Thank you Kate for the WOW inspiration, your blog is my morning cuppa tea. Garnet is perfect, but it is so hard to choose just one colour. The way the wool is so carefully prepared and coloured just makes me want to burst! We are experiencing the most amazing early fall weather ever. I can picture knitting a Fern Spencer - Shetland Lace sweater, out on the deck in the morning sun, but then I might want to choose Logwood, Lilac or ..........so dreamy.

    ReplyDelete
  159. So many beautiful colors! I would love to make myself a shawl with the charcoal. Wouldn't it be a magical winter with that shawl wrapped around me?!

    ReplyDelete

Can't wait for you to give organic wool a try. Love to support Australian grown and made. So I will be keeping a lookout for it in the future

    ReplyDelete
  164. What a luxury this yarn would be. As a relatively new knitter, I have always dreamed of one day mastering the herringbone stitch. Oh that stitch makes me swoon, it's just so gorgeous. So I think I would dedicate this yarn to the Big Herringbone Cowl from The Purl Bee. Yes, that is what I would do. As to the colour? Well, I choose Maize in all it's yellow goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  165. They're all such gorgeous colours it's so hard to decide! I quite like the Teal, Raspberry and Winter Thyme, but might just let my girls choose for me if I won :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  168. oh my oh my oh my! they are all just so delicious...the red in your post is delightful, and the beetroot and teal just scream make and do! im thinking about newborn baby cocoons for my sister in law...treating it as some kind of therapy for my coming to terms with my empty belly (3 boys already)...whatever do i do now? do you know what i mean? even got those motherley yearnings in the paddock with our cows the other day....but a fresh, 15 minute old calf will do that to you...i've ordered the teal already! take care kate

    ReplyDelete
  169. All the colours are amazing but I think that the beetroot and the raspberry ones are my favourites. If I had to choose I would select the beetroot. I can just see my nieces running around in some pretty little cardigan or jumper that I've made for them.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I love the Spring Green and Raspberry. Me thinks I could make me a nice cardi :)

    ReplyDelete
  171. Seasmoke - because even the name is dreamy!

    ReplyDelete
  172. I was just drooling over this yarn on Suzy Hausfrau last week (I still have the site up in another tab). Isn't it delicious?

If I were to win this yarn my colour choice would be the Indigo, and I'd supplement those two skeins so I had enough to make a Still Light tunic (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/still-light-tunic). It's been in my Rav favourites for ages and I think it's time to make one.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Long time reader first time poster!! ;) That Raspberry colour just grabbed me, l can totally see myself making a nice cardi for Spring days & cool Summer nights...sounds heavenly right now!!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Oh I love that teal... and I would make a scarf for each of my lovely daughters who live in New York. If it is not enough to make two scarves I would maybe mix in some of the natural or oatmeal - both yummy. I love to knit and it never gets cold enough here, so they are often the recipients of my creativity.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Seasmoke would make an awesome cowl. These are gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  176. i would definitely get the beetroot, but all the colours are stunning! if i don't win, i think i'll have to splurge and get some! I'd definatley make a gorgeous detailed shawl like the maia shawl with it!!

    ReplyDelete
  177. Hi Kate - what lovely yarn that is! Will go and drool some more a bit later. I'd really love some of it in Winter Thyme, cause it's my favourite colour, adn if I had some to knit with I might actually make something for me! I feel like I've been knitting for others for the last few years!

    ReplyDelete
  178. oh wow! how beautiful... I think I'd choose the spring green, as I'm on a mission to inject a bit more colour into my wardrobe. as for patterns, I have a whole section in my ravelry queue just for fingering weight cardigans - maybe I'd finally get roung to making laura chau's castlegar cardigan, or perhaps emelie. mmm, daydreaming about pretty yarn and knitting. thanks for the giveaway!

I love that Renae spells her name the same as me! You don't see it as often.

    ReplyDelete
  184. They are all so yummy looking, but if I had to pick one it would be the teal.
I'm just learning to knit and I would use them in a stripy sweater. One for myself since everything I knit seems to be for my boys or my man.
Ps. I love your blog :)

    ReplyDelete
  185. Beautiful teal and winterberry!

    ReplyDelete
  186. What gorgeous yarns, the colours are amazing but Maize and oatmeal would be my pick. I'd make me and my lovely girls a shawl each, we're all so desperate to have one like I knitted their Nana for her birthday. I love the story behind the yarn, might have to get my own wee flock.

Ohh. so beautiful. i would choose the rose quartz and seasmoke (such a lovely evocative name for a colour) and make shawls for me and my girly. pink with grey for her and grey with pink for me.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Thanks for the chance to get my hands on such mouth watering wool. The colours are just drooley!!.

  189. I feel a teeny tiny cheeky for entering as I don't comment often, although I visit your blog EVERY DAY, no not stalking at all. You are pretty much living my dream only yours is on a HUGE scale compared to my little dream. I would choose Vintage Lilac and Rose Quartz, nothing in my head to make with it, just to smooch it and love it a while.

  190. Back in June I read your post where you had cast off on a cosy hotty. inspired I picked up knitting needles and even did the cables! The winterberry and garnet would make some lovely soft cozyotties and beanies to send for Xmas to my 16 year old cutey patootie daughter in Germany and her host sisters. She blogs her adventures too! and life of a lucky 16 yo on exchange is pretty good, but she is still s long way from.home so the cozyottie would be just the trick.

  191. I would pick Spring green.

  192. I just purchased my first skein of Swans Island last weekend.....it would be funny if I won, as I only live a couple hours away from them, but the yarn would be coming from the other side of the world......I am attracted to greens, but on a grey kick now, so Id choose charcoal.....Id make a hat or cowl and some mitts with it....

    ReplyDelete
  193. I, too, am loving the greys right now, so I'm liking the look of Seasmoke and think it would make a beautiful scarf.
