This weekend you might like to….
LISTEN - to Miss Indi and Geoffrey Williams' recording of Ho Hey. #proudmotheralert
MEDITATE - by taking some time out for yourself to crochet/knit/sew a motif. The weekend is such a great time to catch up or even start on your motifs. And if making them is just not your thing, why don't you check out the #MotifDayMay hashtag on instagram, there's some really gorgeous stuff going on over there.
KNIT - Gidday, the brand new pattern by Tikki Knits. It is such a cute little cardi, I'm really hoping Georgie releases the mama version soon, I want one too.
LOVE - the season you are in. Get out amongst it. Lay in the autumn leaves here, pick a bunch of bluebells there, breathe it all in, we'll be moving right along soon enough.
LISTEN - to this podcast about understanding chicken pox. Yep, Miss Jazzy has the miserable things (not in this photo of course), I wonder who's next. (Thanks for the link Farmdoc xx)
POD - your beans and save them in jars, some for eating over winter and some for replanting next year.
And above all have a gorgeous few days. We're hoping to do a bit more work on the woodpile and we're planning to see The Grand Budapest Hotel at The Rex tomorrow night. Yay!
How about you, got anything fun planned?
Big love
xx

Twas so spesh... tmrw garden & craft plans :-) x
ReplyDeleteYey for Indi recording a song! We've had some chicken pox scares this year in my family and among friends, but they didn't eventuate into real chicken pox, some look-alike virus. I had so much fun crocheting a mandala last weekend (Mothers Day) that I kept going and it turned into a big doiley. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteIndi sounds amazing…you must be a mama!
ReplyDeleteKate o would really love to know where u get the patterns for your motif a day. I thought I read it somewhere in your blog a long while back but I have looked and looked and I can't find it. I teach at our local steiner school and i have a colleague who is retiring and we would like to make her a communal blanket out of flowers or squares where lots of folks can contribute. I don't really knit or crochet but showed a friend your pictures we are a little in love and would love to know is there a good website book that you could recommend
ReplyDeleteHi Ariel, all my mitifs so far have been from a book called - 75 Crochet Floral Blocks by Betty Barnden. Have fun! x
DeleteOur caravan arrived this week, so this weekend we cleaned her (while Nick & the children scrubbed the outside I sat inside and daydreamed). We leave for our 12mth coastal lap of Australia in January 2015. Beyond excited! Tonight I am going to re-read some of your travel posts, while Nick continues to investigate what car to buy to tow our van.
ReplyDeleteI listened to Indi's version of Ho Hey - it was freaking awesome! She's got stacks of talent, just beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteLoving Autumn ... and also dying to see The Grand Budapest Hotel.
ReplyDeleteIndi needs a record deal stat .... L O V E the song!
ReplyDeleteBoo to the chicken pox ...
The song, I listed too, fantastic, so joyful, I would even hazard that I like it better than the original!
ReplyDeleteyuck! chicken pox is the worst! i had them as an adult and still cringe at the thought of them! hope jazzy is doing ok, flick x
ReplyDeleteps: how did you like the Grand Budapest Hotel - best movie i've seen in years :)
Hope Jazzy is felling better. Chicken pox is pretty hideous, especially as an adult. I somehow missed out as a child (God knows how considering I was at boarding school) so had my dose when my son got it at kinder and kindly passed it on to his sister and mother. The level of discomfort is indescribable. The upside was that the Blood Bank LOVED me and I gave blood every six weeks for the six months following because you have some sort of fabulous antibodies that they can do stuff with.
ReplyDeleteDear, I listened to Miss Indis recording all weekend, it's so nice! And I just realized - weekend was already over two days ago!? Thank you so much proud Mama!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Indi's song!! Such a talent :)
ReplyDeleteOh my. I loved Indi's song. She has such a lovely voice and I'd buy her album in a flash if only it was available. Proud mama moment well-deserved.
