This is pretty cute!!
It's a new book celebrating the crochet motif in the most gorgeous way. Hooked! by Michelle, Cecile and Sylvie Delprat is filled to the brim with all kinds of sweet motifs, there are hearts and flowers and cupcakes and mushrooms and apples and birds and skulls and so many more. Seriously, I want to make them all. And my girls want me to make them all for them too. They've already started designing brooches, decorations for their school books and patches to sew on their jeans.
I think it's a really great book; the styling, the patterns, the photos and the ideas are all beautiful.
But where to start??
Miss Indi has been begging me to make her some love heart bunting for her bedroom for ages, so I pulled out the cottons and started hooking.
And then just because they were too cute not to, I made an apple, a mushroom and a strawberry. I really want to make the cupcake next too.
If you are into cute and quirky and crochet, then this book is for you.
If you want to follow along on the blog hop - then this link is for you.
If you'd like to win a copy of Hooked!, six balls of yarn, and a crochet hook - then this link is for you.
And if you feel like it, just for fun, tell me which motif you like the best, or what you'd like to do with them, and I'll choose one or two from the comments and make them up and send them to you.
See ya later crochet potata!
xx
These are gorgeous - the hearts and the apple are my favorites - would be a great way to cover the hole I made in my favorite jeans when I tripped into the vegie garden!

ReplyDeleteOh I love these! I've just made the cutest pair of wool sweater pants for Caspian, using the sleeves of a jumper I op shopped. A little pair of toadstools to appliqué onto the knees would be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI even took a photo of the pants with a little homemade mushroom for my blog : http://onegreyelephant.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/blog-post_9.html?m=1
To copy Ruth, LOVE
ReplyDeleteOh Kate you are so lovely! These all look gorgeous, but my favourites are the hearts. I would put a heart or two on our wall and at Christmas they would go on our tree. My goal is to have a Christmas tree full of homemade decorations and a home full of handmade and homemade goodies. xo
ReplyDeleteSo lovely...I'm a big fan of the hearts too....so is my 8 year old Sienna. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
ReplyDeletethey are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI could not love those last 3 more - gorgeous designs and made by you!!
ReplyDeleteI really am going to learn to crochet SOON!
x
I've been reading your blog for a long time Kate. You take the most amazing pictures and I really enjoy reading your posts, The last 3 you made are adorable. I would love to win one of those. My favorite is the mushroom.
ReplyDeleteLinda
you just meltd my crochet heart!!! beautiful book x Jan x
ReplyDeleteFabulous looking heart pattern, and that mushroom - too sweet!
ReplyDeleteOoh! I need that cupcake to turn into a memorial ornament for our Christmas tree. We recently lost a classmate of Hannah's and we had a coffee and cupcakes memorial for her so I was thinking a felt cupcake would be cute for Briony on our tree but now maybe I will crochet one? These are all just too cute (thinking that this book will have to be added to the wish list!)
ReplyDeleteLove the little hedgehog and toadstool, so sweet, infact they are all sweet. Is there a fox in there? Lol
ReplyDeleteWhere does one find this book? I can't seem to find it anywhere
ReplyDeleteAs a lover of cake, an eater of cake & baker of many cakes I would pick the cupcake motif. I'd either frame it to hang in my kitchen or sew it to an apron.
ReplyDeleteThey are seriously very cute!
Son todos muy bonitos, mi preferido seria el corazón , te quedara una guirnalda preciosa !!!!!! ... ;)))
ReplyDeleteHow lovely are they?! Got to say the mushroom is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I think that little hedgehog would be top of my list, he's very comical! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Kate. I would choose a heart because my 12th wedding anniversary is on the 28/2 and my heart still belongs to my husband particularly after his dedication to getting me through breast cancer treatment in 2014 x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous little book. I think the red and cream motifs are my favourite in those. I really need to remember the crochet sts so that I can crochet some little things too. Yours are adorable Kate.
ReplyDeleteThe hedgehog is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you recently. Someone I follow on Instagram is selling beautiful hand spun wool, and I thought that they would make the most beautiful socks!
ReplyDeleteMy son would go crazy for a hedgehog, they're his favourite at the moment. I'm trying to teach him finger knitting at the moment, if only to stop him pressing the reverse lever while I'm sewing...
ReplyDeleteI'd be grateful for any motif. I'd turn it in to badge!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that hedgehog is cute. There would be a fight for it (of course). All 3 of my little girls (3, 4 and 7) would produce at least one item of clothing they wanted it stitched on. A pocket on a cardigan, or a hat, or one of the never ending holes in jeans but unless i weakened I think it would have to be a broach to go on my denim jacket!
ReplyDeleteOh dear me, this book is a MUST have. And I sort of have a policy of NOT buying books, as once I start, I can't stop. I WILL be buying this as soon as possible. I'd love to make some sweaters for a friend's twin with some of these motifs that can be switched out depending on whim. LOVE it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSuch a kind offer Kate! The little strawberry is so gorgeous : ) Michelle x
ReplyDeleteHi Kate!I love your crochet apples!it reminds me of your juicy apples I see on your blog and those beautiful wooden spoons and especially the trinket your farmer boy made!big luv!!
ReplyDeleteoh how cute are they. I need to up my game on the crochet front big time. Straight up and straight down, with nothing fancy going on, that's what I can crochet. No wonder your girls want you to make all that good stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog and I love all of the photos and creations. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think this "Hooked" book is going to become 'the' must-have book on the crochet shelf for 2015.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous...also saves time browsing the web for motifs because the best ones are in the book.
I am hoping that someone is watching over my shoulder as I type this so that I might find "Hooked" in a Christmas Stocking or Birthday box eventually! Love your colour choices with your heart bunting. Have fun!
