I start each one with no idea how it will turn out in the end.
How many rounds I will crochet for the circumference of the base.
How many colours I will use.
If I will add a pattern or keep to the single crochet.
They sort of speak to me as I go.
Thanks so much for stopping by...
I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.

What great crochet :)...Being creative to the max always fun!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always Kate, the way you describe the process makes me thing of a potter at a wheel, shaping and moulding.
ReplyDeleteT. x
so pretty, love those colours!
ReplyDeleteThese bowls are great! Its hard to tell how big they are, but they remind of a trend in Sweden recently of having fabric bread bowls. Very similar to your bowls. Could be a possible use for them?
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful. Are they big enough to machine felt I wonder?
ReplyDeleteWow ~ so clever. And useful too.
ReplyDeleteThey all look great. I think my fave is the bobble bowl. Are you going to felt any of them or will they shrink too much.
ReplyDeletesome of those bowls would make super cool beanies!! Love the colors!!
ReplyDeleteGreat bowls + fabulous crocheting :) K
ReplyDeleteThey're great bowls! I especially like the one with the lid:-)
ReplyDeleteBTW, it's probably the end of broccoli season here too, we're just hopeless at planting things on time :-)
Gorgeous colours Kate. Love how the designs evolve as you go along. That really IS creative :) Anita. xx
ReplyDeleteThe bowls are a very clever idea. Usually when I start crocheting in the round I am always thinking about an animal.
ReplyDeleteSorry to lead you astray on the hedgehog. Maybe I need to make a real hedgehog to photograph with the chocolate hedgehog.
Thanks for stopping by.
aww thanks for your kind words!
ReplyDelete...your crochet bowls are great!
bye for now...
:)
sweet! I love the 'pointy bits' bowl.
ReplyDeleteThey're all so pretty lined up in a row. I think I like the pink one best, but then I also love the bobbly one too!
ReplyDeleteIs there such a thing as crocheter's anonymous? For the seriously addicted? If not there should be! I could certainly join up! Then again there are worse things to be addicted to....Love the bowls especially the bobbly one.
ReplyDeleteThat lid just kills me ...
ReplyDelete(and I did pop in an application so I am crossing my fingers)
So clever, I don't know anything about crocheting but they are some very sweet bowls.
ReplyDeleteOh your bowls are divine Kate. I love all of them for different reasons - and it's not cos I'm crochet bias either!
ReplyDeleteThey're a fabulous! Great colours. I adore the blue and white one.
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteI am in amazement at yr crocheting....fabululous
these are full of character and so rich...happy crocheting!
ReplyDeleteMy head hurts just thinking about how you made these. Great colours and loving the lid!
ReplyDeleteWonderful bowls, they look so great and colorful together!
ReplyDeleteHow could you not love a pointy bits bowl?!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just can't imagine the fun my children could have with stacks of those bowls. Please send a nice big set over immediately! We're needing some entertainment today!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors! I've been contemplating some crochet bowls myself, but I've yet to get to it.
ReplyDeleteKate your bowls are amazing but what I love the most is that they 'talk' to you. To just start and know there is an end, but to not be sure how you'll get there is fantastic. You made me smile at this thought! xx
ReplyDeleteVery nice colour combination, very clever!
ReplyDeleteThe bowls are fantastic! Crochet is such a mystery to me so I really admire your patience and skill in getting making these.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, I just posted the details for getting the mcs badge on my site (in the comments). Email me if you want more help!
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting!
they are very pretty :)
ReplyDeleteWhen you sit down to make one, do you say: I'm going bowling??
ReplyDeleteI hope you're going to have some of these at your next market. They're lovely.
