The last week of the school term has been an exciting one with Italian day, performances, costumes, projects and parties. Because of this my creative space this week seems pretty similar to last week's. I'm still cutting up vintage sheets, making bloomers, dresses, ruffles and playing around with shapes and sizes.
I am loving cutting up these beautiful old sheets but I am so aware of saving every scrap and utilising as much of the piece as possible as they seem to be harder and harder to find .
i just love the little frilly bloomers. too cute and gorgeous colors
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this cuteness...those bloomers are just too darn adorable...
ReplyDeleteKate, those bloomers are just precious! You're very clever. The number of people buying from op-shops these days does make it a little harder to find the treasures. What a shame the secret of "thrift-shopping" is out!
ReplyDeleteso very pretty! I know what you mean about the sheets. It seems every man and his dog go op shopping for vintage sheets, and they only leave behind the icky poly/cotton ones!
ReplyDeleteI can see what you mean about not wanting to waste any of those sheets. They are amazing... and you have done them justice with the beautiful things you have made. They frilly bloomers are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty stuff!!
ReplyDeleteWho'd have thought a bunch of old sheets could be made into such lovely items?
Kate I love all the colours and patterns, frills and sweetness. Can't wait to see them in the flesh xo ps your work is unique & beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic. I love them...those ruffles on the pants are sensational!!
ReplyDeleteSo divine, those bloomers almost make me clucky, almost. And I love pink and green together, one of my all time fav. combinations.
ReplyDeleteThey are all adorable Kate! I suppose it is a shame that everyone is buying those old sheets, but at least now I hope they are all being turned into beautiful things like your clothing and not thrown in the rubbish.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous I love all that colour and fun !
ReplyDeleteLove the upcycled sheets! SO clever! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kate.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage bloomers. Enjoy the school holidays - sounds like you've earned your break!
Penny.
everything is so gorgeous and so pretty I love the sheets and what you are doing with them, very sweet
ReplyDeleteI'm guilty of buying up old sheets too and have just bought an old pattern book for making little girls clothes with that I was going to consider using sheets and other vintage fabrics for. Hope you don't mind. Of course that is if I ever manage to finish all the projects already started. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those little purple and yellow bloomers at the front? Very!
ReplyDeleteLove your projects! They are so pretty. I have been sewing baby bloomers/shorts lately too. Finished off 5 pairs yesterday, now I'm on to a couple of dresses.
ReplyDeleteI wish my op-shop had sheets like that. Those florals are so perfect!
ReplyDeleteAww, the ruffled bloomers a divine - great fabric stash and pink and green together are my favourite!

I have some of that green fabric on the bottom on the dresses in the last pic and have been savouring it for something extra special, thanks for all of this great inspiration...
Take Care
Jodie :)

ReplyDeleteLooking good Kate. Its nice to see what last weeks sheets are becoming.
