This week I have also been slowly cleaning up my sewing creative space. As a general rule I see pulling everything out, refolding it and putting it back as a waste of valuable sewing time but it really got so messy that I had no option.
I started by putting the heavier, wintery fabrics away and then I piled what was left on the ground. I had to do it quickly and all in one go otherwise I knew I'd never go back to it.
I still have the books and yarns to go but now that I have discovered some treasures and feel so much more inspired to walk in there and sew I think I'll prioritise it.
At night, when the girls are asleep, I have been crocheting pot holders. I am loving the fact that I can start and finish a project every single night. I choose a new colour scheme, a new pattern and off I go.
There's one week left on my giveaway. Have you entered yet?

I know the feeling in regards to folding fabric. But it's a good thing you've done it because it does help enormously when you can see what you have.
ReplyDeleteAs you know I more than love your pot holders. They are looking fantastic.
Hehe... I LOVE that some of your vintage fabric still has the oppy tags on it... you are a woman after my own heart (..but with a neater & much more impressive stash!).
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all your pot holders, wish I could crochet like that!
ReplyDeleteLoving your stash!!
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful colour coded piles, they look so inviting. What a great shelf for all your fabric and it's so easy to see & choose and be inspired this way. It must be satisfying doing a project a night like that too, have you made a jug cover yet? Could be good for summer and cold lemonade out on the deck! Hope you are having a good day, keep warm xo
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kate. As much as I hate the organising and tidying of my creative space, it does help the inspiration to flow more freely. TFS. Anita. xxx
