My creative space this week seems as scattered as my mind is. I am making all the time. Little bits here and little bits there. But I don't think I've completed anything for ages.
I am crocheting little colourful flowers to brighten up dresses on grey days like today.
I am sewing in pocket linings and darning in the ends of a gorgeous test knit for a designer in Colorado.
I am cutting and over locking old table clothes for dresses and trying to make sure the see through bits happen in places where it is OK for see through bits to be.
Now I wonder where she could possibly be....
Have a fabulous Thursday!
We are off to dancing class and then to a community garden opening where I am to be the official photographer. Cross your fingers for the rain to stay away.
See ya. XX
Enjoy the garden! My favorite place to be! I love making dresses out of table cloths! The funny thing was - before I found the blogging world last year - I thought I was the one of very few who make clothes out of vintage fabrics. LOL - oh well - the more the merrier!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this rainy day xoxo

I couldn't help but smile and giggle as I read your post. It's always so much fun trying to accomplish anything while playing hide and seek...or trains, cars, lego, playdough, painting, or whatever else takes their fancy....secretly I wouldn't have it any other way :)
ReplyDeleteHope the weather cooperates for you.
It's all looking so very lovely.
ReplyDeleteMiss Pepper is super cute to boot! Her face is changing, she's lost some of her pudgy wudgy squeezy cheeks.

ReplyDeleteHey Kate, your flower reminds me that I had a crochet flower tutorial book marked to try this week! I need a small project and I'd love to make a whole rainbow collection of brooches to jazz up my wardrobe. I see the sun is shining for you now, might even pop by and say hi! xo

ReplyDeleteMiss Pepper's toenails match mine! My girls (and sometimes boy) are always toe-painted. I won't do fingers, but toes definitely require decoration!

ReplyDeleteHi Kate, Such beautiful 'work' in your space. Especially loving the torn cotton and lace which fleetingly took me to a Jane Austen, walking across the moors moment. Thank you. And I see you kept the best for last. : ) Too cute!

just stumbled onto your blog - love the torn fabric ruffles. i created one for a bathroom curtain made recently. it has fabric-covered buttons at top (or will, when it's finished), and is smooth with a layer of batting in the middle to keep it even and help keep out the cold in winter. just a top valance. but, the ruffle: i tore the cotton muslin 2x the depth of the finished ruffle and folded/pressed it in half. gathered it all up and zig-zag stitched it around the sides and bottom of the valance. plan to pull some threads when it's ready to be hung to give it that tattered look. need to finish the buttons, decide how to hang it (long story), and do the quilting on the front (didn't like the first or second attempts).
ReplyDeleteI like little bits on the go. I'm quickly bored of the same old thing. They all look wonderful as usual...
ReplyDeleteHope the rain stayed away for you. Love Pepper, so cute. All your creativeness looks lovely Kate. xx
ReplyDeleteI have that table cloth!
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish I could knit or crochet even a tiny bit as well as you can.
