Now I have to decide: a quilt, a couple of little dresses or maybe they just have to sit on the side board for a little bit longer as eye candy.
I have knitted this pattern before. Last year when I was first learning to knit garments. It took so long that time and I undid bits and googled how to do the stitches the entire time. This time I feel like I know a bit more about what's going on. Its a great confidence booster.
I must admit though that I'm not entirely thrilled with the mess of colour. When I bought the yarn, the skeins looked like the colours were broken up into chunks of solid bits. I guess that's just another knitting lesson I've now learnt.
I am crocheting granny slippers. Well, granny slipper anyway. Another one of Michelle's wonderful patterns.
I hope your Thursday is a creative one.
We are off to creative dance and then story time.
See ya. X
Sounds like you are going to have a lovely day. I'm off to the gym! How Hip am I Rofl :D Have a good day and I hope the day is as happy as you wish for.
ReplyDeleteAll looking lovely at your place - the "eye candy" is divine. I'm a bit addicted to quilting right now, so I'd vote for a quilt! Have a lovely day! Nic
ReplyDeleteah, I visited her shop too (so lovely) and I can see we chose 3 of the same sheets - aren't they just gorgeous?
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate your ace! X
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot on your plate, enjoy your day, I'm off to see Edddie Vedder tonight with my man so excited!
I find that with wool too! What looks wonderful as a skein or ball may not look how you imagined it once it is knit up. I think your cardi is looking very sweet however.
ReplyDelete:)
I love the yarn you are using for Peppers cardi! and you stack of vintage sheets is so pretty. T. x
ReplyDeleteLove the slipper. How are you at finishing pairs? I only ask because the odds are always pretty low around these parts. Mmmmm. Quince jelly...
ReplyDeletequince jelly.....with cheese and rye bread....yes please!! Have a wonderful creative day,TK xx
ReplyDeleteI've never had quince jelly... I don't think I've even ever had a quince...?!
ReplyDeleteSo busy! Wow you have been doing so much :) Love the fabric, so retro ... i'm just a tad jealous but i really can't buy any more fabric until at the moe i have no space at all!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs quince jelly nice? I have never had it. What do you like it with? What does it taste like? xx
ReplyDeleteI would probably stare at those linens for a time before deciding on a use for them...I love the colours :)
ReplyDeleteI have never tried quinces before...but seeing as your jam looks like honey I think I'd love to try it.
xx
I LLOOOVE quince jelly. YUM yum and I bet your would be the best. Hopefully i can nab some before it sells out.
ReplyDeletelove that lone slipper,xo
I miss the quince tree from our old place. As soon as we moved in here we planted one :) In a few years I will be able to make quince jelly and quince paste once again.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the colours in your 'In Threes'. I have to make another one for Possum soon as I finish my shawl.
I should make quince jelly, bad experiences of quince paste and stirring for hours and then it burning in the last 10 minutes. Quince jelly just is beautiful to look at, even if you didn't do anything else with it. I need to do some apple jelly too. NIce to see how your thursday is unfolding...panning out (ha!) Kate, may it be a nice one x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the yarn, was oogling at it before you said you did not like it! What yarn is it? Oh, the vintage sheet envy, I say go the quilt!
ReplyDeleteI think the cardi for pepper looks lovely, though I know what you mean, I found the same thing with a gorgeous skein I bought of soft blues & browns, it looked totally different when I worked with it! I've been looking for a slipper pattern, that one looks sweet & I love the green!
ReplyDeleteI love that green granny slipper! Just gorgeous. So too that beautiful fabric.
ReplyDeleteSo much going on at your house. I have to say that fabric is just so pretty. I really like the way the colors have gone in Pepper's cardi too. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteLoving it all but those granny slippers are FANTASTIC! My nanna used to make me those when I was little... miss them :) Kx
ReplyDeleteCouldn't resist, I just went and bought some too!
ReplyDeleteLot of clever stuff happening over your way, wow. The quince jelly reminds me of Great Aunty Jean who whipped some up one time she came to visit :-)
Oh man! Can I come round so you can teach me how to make jams and the like?
ReplyDeleteThe background cloth/sheet you have used is identical to some dresses recently at mine, hah!
I love the way the knitted top is looking. A gorgeous mess of colour :) Lot's of lovely vintage sheet pics too.
ReplyDeletethe linen is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteread yesterdays post and thought what a great mum you are! very inspiring. will keep that idea up my sleeve :)
You know I love your creative world, Kate. Thanks for the gems. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty rainbow. I love that cardi and tempted to try it but firs so many things I do want to make first.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness that fabric does look so sweet...And I actually love the colors on that cardi, just sayin :)
ReplyDeleteYou always have such a lovely place to be going on :)
Yum to the quince jelly. It looks wonderful...& of course I"m particularly taken with the eye candy too. x
ReplyDeleteLoving that colorful bundle of fabric you have there!
ReplyDeleteI really like how that wool is knitting up into Peppers cardi, like a rainbow! I made a few pairs of Michelle's granny slippers last year and they have not been off my feet in the cooler weather....they make fantastic bedsocks as well if you edge them in SC round the cuff with some knitting elastic added into that row...brilliant and they don't slip off!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteI love love love that fabric. If it were me I would admire it for a wee bit longer. Can I ask if that fabric is available I clicked on the link in the post and it did not seem to be working. Also I really like the collies in the cardi that you are knitting. Just right for our southern hemisphere autumn and winter.
Make a quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteMake a quilt!!!
The cardigan is beautiful and I love the yarn. Those fabrics just need to sit on the side for a little bit longer, in my opinion. x
ReplyDeleteOoooh Kate, what yummy fabrics!! I can easily imagine being slowed down by them. Such a pretty creative space and how sweet are those slippers! : )
ReplyDeleteWowzers! I so enjoy your blog Kate :o)
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous things you're working on... So lovely to be able to take a peek, thank you!
Yay, what a great sense of creation and potential projects you have shown us this week! So inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteActually, I really love the colors in Miss Pepper's cardi. And your quince jam sounds sooo lovely.
