Hello sweet friends, I can't believe how fast this week's flown by and that here I am on Friday again sitting here tapping out yet another blog post. I probably say that every Friday but it always feels true.
Usually Friday is the one day of the school week that we don't have to spend hours in the car driving the big girls over the hills and back, to and from their school. I love Fridays, apart from our one hour at gym, the rest of the day is for blog writing and bowl turning and other creative adventures. But today being the first Friday of the first week of the school holidays means that all routine is out the window and rather than a slow and easy day, today I am being pulled in all sorts of other directions.
So instead of giving myself a hard time and trying to rush this and fit it into all the small gaps, I'm going to have a quick shower, put on my Melbourne clothes, and drive into town to pick up Miss Pepper and bring her home. I'll post a proper blog tomorrow when I can give it a decent chunk of time.
In the meantime why don't you pour yourself a cup of tea from the kettle farmer Bren has boiling on the stove in his workshop and make yourself a toastie on the fire. I'll be back here before you know it.
See you tomorrow!
Love Kate x
I'm pretty boring with my cheese, olives and semi dried tomatoes.
My favourite toastie filling Kate would have to be cheese all on its own. Plus I don't mind peppermint tea either.
ReplyDeletenothing wrong with a simple cheese toast, I love it!! x
Deleteooh I have not seen those toastie makers for years - must see if my parents still own their set. We used to call them "quicksees"! Not a fan of peppermint tea (makes my eyes go puffy!).
ReplyDeletequicksees!! i love it. was that a family name or a brand name do you think?
DeleteHi Kate love reading your blog posts. I'm liking the sound of cheese, olives and sun dried tomatoes very Italian yummmmm. Not a big tea fan though more of a coffee girl 😄😄😄
ReplyDeletethanks so much! and i'm more of a coffee myself but not late in the afternoon, then i stick to peppermint tea. x
DeleteSharp cheddar, salami and a good tomato chutney.
ReplyDeleteI don't do salami myself but there are other members of my family who couldn't do without x
DeleteA cuppa and a toastie sounds mighty fine.
ReplyDeleteit does doesn't it. x
DeleteI took my children out of school yesterday for lunch and we ate cheese and onion toasties in the park. I also had a drink of barley cup - don't know if you get that over there? x
ReplyDeleteNo I've never heard of barley cup. And now I'm intrigued. x
DeleteMy Nanny always put the weirdest things in jaffles. Canned spaghetti. Leftover spaghetti Bol or savoury mince. Eggs. Huge chunks of leftover Christmas ham with creamed corn. Everything always had cheese. They tasted so good. One of those sweet childhood memories. Now you make me want to go buy a jaffle iron.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I've been known to add a bit of leftover lentil bolognaise with cheese, I get it. And I think you should totally go and grab a waffle iron and recreate those memories for your guys. x
DeleteLove that kettle 😍.
ReplyDeleteGreen Tea or strong milky Irish breakfast.
Toasted probably just cheese or cheese and relish. I am a simple farmer, I have simple tastes 😉.
Cheers Kate
I've got pretty simple farmer tastes too.
DeleteAnd I squealed when I came across that kettle at the market a few years ago. I just love it. x
Ham, cheese and corn relish is delicious together in a toastie. I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite jaffle filling is leftover savoury mince, a close second is tasty cheese with pineapple-mango chutney.
ReplyDeleteYour cute Scandi kettles exudes Hygge (as well as steam!).
My choice of tea is Daintree black tea; for my first brew of the day I add T2 Chai to the mix.
I love a jaffle made in the fire! Favourite filling is cheese, tomato and basil. I'm not a regular tea drinker but I did have a boyfriend at uni who made the most delightful sweet milky black tea - definitely very gauche but I loved it. Hope you are all having a delightful week :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Kettle Farmer Bren has! My favourite toasties are crunchy peanut butter with sliced banana and goats cheese and caramelised onion chutney. I love peppermint tea in the summer months as it's so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI love the red tea kettle!
ReplyDeleteLove the greenhouse roof! And that your onions grew. I'd knit a hummingbird on my cozy hovering over some flowers. Enjoy the wool!
