16 C's.

Colourful cup collection for the caravan.

Cookies made using my Mum's old biscuit press, using Lee's recipe immediately after reading this post.

They really don't look the prettiest but I haven't heard a single complaint from any of the gobbler uperers.

The third cabled baby Milo I've knitted in as many weeks.

The crappy disaster that happened when I tried to sew a pair of pants this morning. Think inside out and back to front and upside down.

The cheeky face that's getting in every photo I try to take.

I'm having a capital C for crappy day. Nothing big, just one of those days. Everything seems too big, too hard. I'm too tired. I can't be bothered. I'm needing those overemotional homeopathics too often. You wouldn't believe how many things I've dropped. I hung up on the poor man ringing from India about our electricity bill. My hair is really annoying me.

Once the pizza dough has finished mixing I'll pop it near the fire to rise and hop in the bath with the littlest. Isn't there a song about washing your cares away?

I'm going to Melbourne in the morning with Indi. My Dad is most probably getting out of hospital. Hooray!! We'll catch an early train, hang out with M and D, drink some coffee, maybe watch a film and then head home. That will be fun.

I can't wait for about 8.30 tonight when the girls are in bed, the dinner dishes are done and I can curl up on the couch in front of the fire with my boy and knit. Bring it on.

How are you?

xx

  3. So glad to hear your father is being discharged. It is such a whirlwind isnt it. He goes in and everything thinking he will be fine and then there is this cascade of events and everyone realises that there has been a lot hidden away. Been through this a few times.

Yes I think hter is a bit of an ill wind today. But as always there will be a new day tomorrow and so much has been learnt.

    Bless

  4. Just watch out you don't go dropping any stitches! You could be tempting fate there.
My Mum also has a biscuit press, they're great, I should ask her where it got to, hope she still has it somewhere.
    Have a great day tomorrow.

  5. My crappy day was yesterday. And boy was it crappy. It took everything in me not to cry like a baby. Hopefully you have a nicer day tomorrow like I did today. Sold something in my shop, had a hotdog for lunch (yummo), watched some tv, did a bit of shopping and had a massage.. well from the shiatsu (close enough). May the relaxation and happy force be with you!!!

  6. Oh, those days are horrible. They're usually my premenstral days - when I drop things and bump into things and fly off the handle... And most days I'm yearning for 8.30pm, the couch, my husband's company and my knitting (or my hand quilting as is currently the case).

I hope your C for Crappy is swiftly superseded by D for Delightful tomorrow.

  7. How am I? I just rang my mum to say hi... and she tells me se is having tests tomorrow to see if she has cancer... So, as u can imagine, I'm crap. But before that, I was having an awesome day playing with bubba!

  8. Hope that home cooked pizza and knitting on the couch make your day a whole lot better. Go, your dad! That's good news. Lovely fabric so I hope that you can salvage it in some way. And if you have to have an intruder in every photo, at least it is a cute one. My intruders are cheeky, like yours seems to be, but a whole lot furrier...and hungrier...they'd be in the biscuit photo...eating.

  9. PS I did initially think that this post was about some big(gish) boobs lol. Anyhow saying "nice cups" still seems appropriate :P

  11. Hi Kate, I found your blog because I'm a big fan of Em's. I still remember a tiny little toddler Indigo in her little plaits and furry jacket and a baby jazz all in stripes at a Sunday Arvo gig in Fitzroy. Loooong time ago now, I see! I have been getting very jaded with blogs lately and asked the old universe for 'pretty please, at least something that won't drain me'. Not only does Fox's Lane not drain me, I spent a whole rainy Sunday being revitalised and inspired. I put on my favourite old cardi, planted some little seeds by twilight, cut out a softie, and resolved to learn to crochet. Not to mention the most delicious stuffed capsicums in the world, all in one Sunday. I finally felt real. Thanks for waking me up. Much love on your crappy day, I sure felt yours on mine! Xx Sarah Kate

  13. Geezzz woman how are you standing anyway! You have just been on the "roller-coaster of emotional hell" and here you are still baking! If it was me I would be on the couch in a very stationary position.

As for farm doc getting out of hossie so soon. GOOD ON HIM! BRAVO!

  20. Oh Kate I had a really crappy day yesterday losing a client as they didnt like my cleaning! I was very saddened thinking perhaps I hadnt done a good job but then realised it was just their problem, not mine. Today is fairing a bit better, although the car nearly didnt start tonight and with Paul away I dont want that happening. I am so happy for your family that your dad is being discharged. I am sure it will take a while for him to be back on his feet but he will be much happier surrounded by family. Those cups you got for your caravan remind me of ones we used to use at my nana's a long time ago!

I am snuggled on the couch with my crochet (I don't have a partner). So glad your dad is healing and I hope your tomorrow is wonderful with your mum and dad, it is going to be a blue sky day tomorrow in Melbourne, or so they say. Enjoy x Sandi

  28. I had a crappy shitty day with misunderstandings, money worries and an essay to write. I expect tomorrow will also be crappy with an essay to finish and after that I fully expect life to improve.

The moon, according to your commenters. Hmmm.

I hope life improves for you tomorrow!

Oh, and, 12B here. (I think. Probably shrunk to 12A by now after 10 years of breastfeeding).

    (Not the same child!)

  30. Poor Kate, days like that suck. I hope you got some knitting and curling up down this evening :o)
Those cups are FAB! My parents still have a collection of those old aluminium cups from when we were little. They are such a fond childhood memory.
Gorgeous pic of your little lady too :o)

  32. The kids in bed and knitting certainly is something that keeps me going all day! Although for me at the moment, it's sewing as I've just caught the sewing bug. I love that you still manage to put a positive slant on a crappy day and make us smile with the gorgeous photography of lovely goodies...and those cheeky smiles just make it all worthwhile don't they!

  33. cheeky smiles, they are the best.

    BLEH.
Impressive Homeopathic kit. I have a large crappy box that I go digging thru and reading each of the labels for 10 minutes to get my recipe for healing...
