Sunset.

The end of another beautiful day in the west.

Another spectacular sun set.

A few drinks at a bar by the beach.

Incredible colours.

A little bit of magic.

A heart overflowing with happiness and love.

A sun...a ball...a muffin...a bed...a couch...a face...a piano...a shepherd's pie...a cupcake...a pyramid...a squished tomato...a lump...a speck...gone.

I told my girls this week that for the rest of their lives wherever they are when they watch the sunset I want them to remember in their hearts how much their Mum and Dad adore them. How precious they are.

I appreciate the luxury of being able to stop and watch the sunset each evening. To reflect on the day gone by and feel grateful for where we are and what we are doing.

I love watching the sky darken and trying to pick the exact moment that day becomes night.

I hope your weekend is all kinds of wonderful.

Happy travels. xx

  4. Oh my, these photos are amazing! I love your sunset words to your children. So important to let our kids know how important they are to us, and spending time with them is the best way to show it, even when we aren't on amazing adventures like yours.

  6. I love your children's faces. Very special. I remember an evening with my Mum and brother when I was seven. we were living in Bundaberg, fighting shy of humungous cockroaches, living off mangoes and watermelon because there was no money left for anythin else. There was school and cleaning. Leaning round the window in the back room to sneak a look into the adjoining property but the most special time from those days was the evening we watched the lightning. It must have been an electric storm away on the horizon but it was special and to remain with me to this day. Mum taught us how beautiful and majestic storms are. i hope all your girls hold your special night tight in their hearts too. Hugs Cherrie

Fun fact - did you know that the sun has actually already dipped below the horizon although you can still see it just above? Magic! And it must be true because Stephen Fry told me!

  31. So beautiful. I've been dropping into your blog watching your wonderful travels. Lurking not commenting. Your post today reminds me of the line from the Waifs '...to watch the evenings change from afternoon, is a pleasure that we rarely see ...' Enjoy those glorious sunsets over ocean and I'll continue to enjoy a caravan adventure vicariously :)
