This week...

This week I will go for a very fast walk/run for at least half an hour, at least five times. Preferably with Indi but otherwise alone.

This week I will post at least three photos a day, of my day, on instagram.

This week I will make a start on the knitting pattern I think I can design.

This week I will hunt down some soft, yellow wool.

This week we will eat for dinner;
Mon: Cheesy, passata-ey baked polenta and salad.
Tues: Vegie, beany flat bread tacos.
Wed: Mushroom risotto.
Thurs: Dahl and garlicy flat bread and rice and yogurt.
Fri: Homemade pizza and salad.

This week I will try and source bulk bio dynamic flour and oil.

This week I will try to remember to stretch.

This week I will do a big shop on Monday.

This week I will try to get the girls to bed earlier.

This week I will try to spend a chunk of time alone with Miss Jazzy.

This week I will try to sort out the little girls' room.

This week I will sew the blue embroidered table cloth into a dress.

This week I will preserve the pears, freeze the plums and make more blackberry ice cream.

This week I will try to read more of my book than I did last week.

This week I will try not to take things too personally.

This week I will take at least one bag of stuff to the oppy.

This week I will buy myself some flowers.

This week I will lice comb my hair in readiness for my haircut on Friday.

This week I will hunt for some big old industrial lights. Probably at least two.

This week I will think about curtains for our bedroom.

How about you?
What are you up to this week?
I hope whatever it is, it's awesome.

Bye. x

  2. That's a very busy week you have in store! I'm feeling suddenly very lost this week, so my plan is to make myself a plan, I'll start with the shopping right now...x

  5. this week i will use all my supermum powers to make hearty milk for the bebe; teach the big kids something about reading, writing and maths; provide enough meals to keep everyone alive.
and if there is spare time (ha!) i really want to start piecing the Welcome Baby Birth Day bunting into a quilt.
all the best with your list!

  6. What a good week. I like your plans and intentions.
Ok - must admit, I am totally over idealising your life/farm/family...... But that's good. I'm doing it in a wonderful and good way.
I'm loving reading your blog, and following you along your journey - your self journey and your family journey. I love that your family, and especially your farm boy are there with you so much on this journey. Not just side-line supporting, but there!
Thank you for sharing such a warm, nourishing, real, honest, beautiful, true and crafty creative loving life. thank you thank you xxx
Oh - this week I will for sure do more and more crochet - some rocks and stones are begging to be covered! And I'll laugh with my family. And enjoy looking at all the leaves that falling all around, on the ground around me. And I'll be crazily doing other things too (like looking for a 60th bday gift for my mother-in-law.). But I will be breathing, and loving, and enjoying and smiling. I'm on my happiness journey too - my recipe is bubbling steadily (occasionally burning, but mostly just right!).
    Enjoy your week.

  8. Sounds great! This week I'm going to focus on keeping everyone well fed, rested, and as happy as can be, 'cause I'm 8 months pregnant and that's about all I can (hopefully) manage! Looking forward to more energetic weeks... xK

  11. Yum, I wish I was eating at your place. This week I am thinking about our two week holiday to Esperence starting on Saturday. Did you stay at the caravan park at Duke of Orleans Bay?

  12. Sounds terrific!

This week I'll finish the three hanging handtowells I started by adding button holes and buttons
And I'll see if I can bring some order to the plastic cupboard.

  14. this week, i'm doing the single working mother in the city routine and reading blogs like yours to vicariously re-live my farmer's wife (well, with a different farmer perhaps!) old life.

  15. That week sounds incredibly fun and infinitely more interesting than mine. Great idea to write down what you WILL do this week. I love that- accountibility always helps to get things done.

  16. Hooray for Friday night pizza. Unless, of course, special guests come a visiting. In which case it becomes Tuesday night pizza.

We use this flour: http://www.edenvalleybiodynamic.com.au/products.php (although if you're into eating locally, it's not as good for you as it is for us).

    love to you guys.

  20. That's a big big week.

I may be able to help you with a tried & tested lice remedy:

    - one bottle of cheap conditioner, half empty out;
    - put in small bottle of tea tree oil, a small bottle of eucalyptus oil and a small bottle of lavender oil.

Mix and use weekly in place of conditioner.

    Happy haircut!

  21. Go for it Kate!!!!

Love it, has given me a bit of motivation for my own week, was feeling a bit low this morning but reading your post has given me the kick up the bum I needed!

I will now make a few promises to myself for this week ... though maybe not as many as you!

Hope the haircut goes well this time!
    Happy Knitting

  23. Ah, did someone just use the term 'maidenhood' there? Hmmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Last one, I promise. Would you please get rid of that bloody awful word verification business? Drives me even crazier since they added ANOTHER word to the whole thing. Eeek!!! x

  25. Your weeks dinners plan sounds so yum that i'm going to salivate quietly over my laptop thinking about it!

  26. Hi Kate

You write some inspiring posts! Another post that sticks with me was the one on bread at the start of the year. After reading, I said to the other half (Deb) "I wish I had more time to make bread too". Seems one way or another I got my wish as I am no longer working. Not such a bad thing because now I can make bread.

I have also started a blog on solar power

I also want biodynamic flour in bulk so let me know if you find it.

There that's what I'm doing, taking control of my life, trying not to rely on employers any longer. Take a look at my blog if you like.

    Happy doing [lots of] things
    Phil

  27. Wow!...I'm in awe.
I will try and get more done on my to-do list than I did last week :-)

  28. That list is epic! It almost gave me a fright reading it and you are a completely organized legend post caravan adventure. I'm sure my list is similarly lengthy but would be too scared to right it down. Today I did manage to order a fish tank, contact a building designer, re jig a floor plan, trawl curbside cleanup and leave a school bag at swimming. melx

  29. I love your blog and think you are just lovely,
but I get worried for you.
I don't want to get all up in your face and be disrespectful,
this is just an observation from a stranger.
There always seems to be a tone to your posts of must and should and will.
I don't say this just because of today's 'will do' list.
(I love a list as much as the next person).
But from your previous posts I get the impression that you push yourself coz you feel 'not quite good enough'.
I think you should be a little kinder to yourself.
    Stop pushing so hard.
    Coz you're t'rific.

  30. Holy Schmockers! I'm exhausted just reading your list! You're awesome x

    ReplyDelete
  31. beautiful, creative and inspiring... my list is shorter and more basic {but i'm working up to something more spectacular, like yours}.
this week i am moving my body {exercising} at least 3 times a week.
mowing before the next torrential rain comes.
    learning to crochet.
prepping the garden for autumn crops.
trying to blog regularly and be interactive in this gorgeous, supportive community.
    remembering to breathe....
    love to you xxx

  34. I buy 12.5kg bags of biodynamic flour from Eden Valley, a fabulous family run Western Australian farm. There is a Victorian wholesaler listed on their website. Terri brought me down a couple of sacks of biodynamic chook feed when she was in town visiting her elderly parents - they are just lovely. http://www.edenvalleybiodynamic.com.au/index.php

  35. That is really weird that one of the previous commenters has taken this post and others and interpreted them to mean that you think you "are not quite good enough. " A mighty big leap I must say. Not sure how writing a list of things you want to get done- quite a manageable one in a week and possibly about one tenth of what you will actually do means you think badly about yourself?

I always find it interesting when people apologise for what they are about to say before they have even said it- and wonder why say it at all?

Has Indi grown?? she looks lots taller- look at those long limbs!

    1. First of all - keep your wigs on!
      It's not a malicious comment.
It's an observation - a little food for thought.
Just because you don't agree doesn't make it untrue.
"wonder why say it at all?"
Maybe it's something I have seen in myself and therefore am more attuned to recognizing it in others.
That being said - it comes from a place of concern and empathy.
So just chill, before you jump up on that high horse.

  36. If you make it through half that list your a wonder woman!! Hope I can help you to cross one thing off... try Powlett Hill Biodynamic Flour, just down the road towards Clunes. Red Beard Sourdough at Trentham use this flour, I believe you can buy it direct but I have also got it from The Greengrocer @ Clunes. Good luck crossing off that mighty list!!
