Let's go fly a kite.

Friends of ours have bought a half a hill and this old shed on the outskirts of Daylesford.

The have the most amazing views in every direction.

And they have wind when no one else does.

Perfect for kite flying.

I have a feeling we're going to be spending a lot of time flying kites on that hill this Summer.

I have a plan to make a kite bubbling away in the back of my mind. Have you ever made a kite? Have you got any suggestions for me?

  1. the kids have made many kites with paper, plastic bags, sticks...a kite that flies high into the sky?..nope...but they had lots of fun running around with their kites dragging behind them.
watching kites fly is mesmerising and your squid? is cuuute :)

  3. What about rummaging through the 'dress ups' bit or the ladies section of your local Op shops to see if there is any silk or satin type fabric to use. That way you're not buying new even better you're up-cycling something old. I did this when I was significantly younger than now and it worked a treat for my kite. Good luck, Peta

  10. Maybe that really thin and light wood (can't think of name... aggghhhh... like broom handles but much thinner and lighter) from the hardware store or boning (also light) for structure....??

Great idea. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.
