I did not check my emails, I did not check your blogs, I helped the girls get their breakfasts but did not eat my own.
I yanked down fabric, drew the pattern, cut the pattern out, overlocked, stitched, bound, tried on and photographed Jazzy wearing it.
Probably a good thing she wont take it off for me to bind the bottom hem, because I have 28 minutes to get bathers, towels, clothes for afterwards, get them in the car and drive to school.
Alright...publish...and off to swimming we go...hope you have a great day.
I'm so impressed you made such a lovely dress, blogged about it then made it to swimming lessons for 10am!
ReplyDeleteThe purple fabric is my favourite.
So nice to see pictures of summer!
Anne.
I love days like that, when I make it to the sewing machine to make something in a few 'stolen' moments.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress!
Super-mum! Great dress!!!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed too. What is it about the urge to create like that? I get that too - its like you have to get it out of your head and made or you can't concentrate on anything else- its so distracting until it's done. Like an itch.
I thought it was just me and my inpatience.
Sweet dress. I did the opposite today, slept in, started blogging. Fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy 4 get their own breakfast, even make their own porridge, bless them.
Cooler over cast day here so with zero plans, we're staying in!! Enjoy your fruitful day, i'm off to bake, because i blinked & it's lunchtime!! Love Posie
You are on a roll ... what a productive Friday.
ReplyDeleteGreat dress ! Really when else could you have gotten the ideas out of your head and onto the design , after swimming lessons , no , lol !
ReplyDeleteof course you can do that! you are a mum genius!! love it.

ReplyDeleteYou blow me away!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing dress.
What a pretty dress! I totally understand the need to get it out of your system before you do anything else, I sometimes have moments like that too. Great that you finished it before the swimming lessons too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a productive morning and a very sweet dress.
ReplyDeleteCute Cute Cute! I can't believe you did it all in one morning! :-) It would have taken me three days just to figure out how big to cut the neckline.
ReplyDeleteSuper-sweet dress .
ReplyDeleteAnd very motivating... Maybe I should turn the computer off one morning! :-)
Well done! I have a secret theory that the best things are done in a rush. Deadlines can bring out the best creative performances
ReplyDeleteCuuuuuuuuuuute!
ReplyDeletethe dress is fabulous! I love it sooo much. I do wish my girls were still at an age were I could make them something and they would happily put it on. If I did make them something now we would agonise for hours over patterns and fabric! so not worth it anymore. I think a grown up version of this would look great too
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Looks like she is very happy with it too!
ReplyDeleteOh....how I LOVE it....one for you next?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how you do it Kate ~ but I am very impressed indeed! Well Done :O) x
ReplyDeleteGroovy dress and great use of limited time - well done!

ReplyDeleteSo cute, my boys are my biggest sewing fans too! Got to love that.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you listened to your machine when it was calling you. The dress is gorgeous (even with an unbound hem!).
ReplyDeleteletting your morning plan you...moving with it....bliss....and to the minute...from the pic...a huge success....love this :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a super gorgeous dress. I loved looking at the pictures and spotting pieces of material that I too have in my sheeting stash.
ReplyDeleteSuper cool and totally inspirational.
