Our Jazzy is 10

It's funny that thing babies do when they grow up. Women in waiting rooms warn you about it, books prepare you for it, sometimes you even think you notice it. And then there it is, she's 10.

Our Jazzy is 10.

A decade old. Double figures. Two hands full. Indeed.

Happiest birthday Jazzy bear our archer.
We adore you.

  1. Doesn't it fly by sooo fast! A friend once told me that the only way to slow down growing up was to breathe in and out slowly so you can be fully present in every moment of the grand adventure. Happy Birthday!

  4. ANd you look at her and think "Is that my child? Did I make her? Is she that baby that I carried around and burped on my shoulder like... yesterday?". I still can't understand that I have three children. That I have given birth to three wonderful human beings. It is so surreal. And still the most natural and obvious thing in the world. I mean that I actually did this. Happy birthday to Jazzy. Hands up! Don't shoot me! I was just about to clap my hands in celebration. Yaaaayyyyy!

  5. Double digits whhooo hoooo! Many happy returns Jazzy! And Kate - a bex and a good lie down usually helps to cope with the transition! Wow, time is a thief to us mothers isn't it - but you can't afford to loiter with grief as time will snatch even more from you whilst you are not looking. So look, look, look and love. Capture and commit as much as you can to memory for later on. xxx Happy Birthday Jazzy

  8. So cool that she does archery! When I was a kid, my grandpa got my brother a bow and arrow set and we did it in the yard for probably only a summer. I should ask him if he still has it!

  9. Awful. The babies not being babies thing. Of course it is totally ace too. So blooming conflicted. This parenting gig... so many contradictions, so much ambivalence.

    Happy birthday Jazzy!!!

I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.
