My creative space.

Before I get into the creative stuff I 'd like to say the most enormous, gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who called, texted, commented, emailed, posted, read or blogged about me yesterday on my birthday. I had the best day. One of those days when I knew it was my birthday all day. I feel so lucky right now and its all because of you. THANK YOU!!!!

At the moment I'm screen printing t'shirts for the Daylesford Makers' Market and for the Dear Prudence shop.

Drawing designs and cutting stencils.

Printing.

Next comes ironing and sewing in labels and then delivering.

My creative space is also full of cup cake recipes thanks to Cathie, the best bloggy friend a girl could have. These cup cake papers and pretty sprinkles came in the mail yesterday for my birthday. After I press publish on this post I'm off to scroll down Cathie's list of gorgeous recipes. Thank you so much Cathie you really made my day.

I'm also about to get started on my softie for Mirabel after receiving Leonie's gift of this lovely ivory fabric. Thanks Leonie it was just the kick up the bum I needed, as Indi would say 'you rock!'.

And lastly is this bootie pattern I am struggling to follow. Usually the patterns I follow are written in words or abbreviations but this picture might just get the better of me. After pulling it apart a few times today I think my next plan is to try to write it out in words myself and see if that works.

I hope you have a fantastic and creative Thursday.

My Creative Space.

I've sewn in the last label and I'm delivering frilly bloomers to the new Lark shop this morning.

My (our) creative space this week, the first week of the school holidays, is here at the girls' art and craft table. It's been awful, wet and windy weather outside, so this is where we are spending a lot of our time.

The making area is just off the main living area but still in the same room. Here the girls can express themselves and make a bit of a mess while they are at it.

There are lots of bits and pieces to inspire them to create. We seem to accumulate crafty equipment, bits of nature and odds and ends we come across because you never know when you'll need just that right bit. Sometimes it's that bit that inspires a whole new project.

And we have a big cupboard to store all their crafty bits and pieces in. Looks like that top shelf is in need of a tidy.

At times it does get sticky, covered in glitter or so covered in art work that you can't see the table or find what you are looking for, but it's a small price to pay for having a space that encourages making and creating.

Fire Blossom.

Not a huge amount of crafting going on at Foxs Lane this week.
The youngest member of the family has barely been sleeping which has led to us wandering around in the same type of fog as when she was first born.

I have finally slowed down on the washer making although I still haven't figured out which one to use for the swap

The one above surprised me though as usually I can't stand the colour orange. It runs so deep that I barely even eat orange food.

I made my first internet purchase this week.

To be honest, I'm not entirely thrilled with how the labels turned out.
When I had ordered and paid for them, a woman called to let me know that the font I had chosen didn't come in double lines.
I might be paranoid, but once they had my bank details I felt like I couldn't cancel the order.

So I have 50 of these schoolish looking labels that are far less contemporary looking than I had in mind, but they do make my work look a bit more professional.

The pattern for this Fire Blossom Dishcloth comes from here. I added more stitches to make it a bit three dimentional.
