Birthday guest blog.

Hello! Its my birthday day. Today is also a day of so many firsts for me. My first day in a new decade, my first trip around the sun as a 40 year old, the first time I've ever spent a day in Busselton, Western Australia and the first time I've ever had a guest blogger on my blog.

Who more qualified to guest blog on my blog than my own mum!

Here she is:

OUR BEAUTIFUL KATE IS FORTY

and we can hardly believe it!

When our four daughters were growing up, we marked each of their birthdays with a sign on the door with photos of the birthday girl at various stages of her life up to that point.

So Kate, here's a virtual sign from your mum and dad on your virtual door.

The first night we brought you home from hospital Dad was so afraid we wouldn't hear you cry that he slept on the floor at the foot of your bassinette. This is you with Donkey. You talked to him for hours.

Dad used to dink you on his bike to school in the morning when we lived in Parkville. How young he looks there - that's because he was.

We travelled quite a bit when you were young. You lived in London and on a kibbutz in Israel, and we travelled with a tent through Europe. This is on a bridge in Safed, Israel.

Your middle name is Simone for your grandfather Simon. He went to Errol Street Primary School too.

You're eight here, and you now have three younger sisters. You looked so grown up to us then!

Your last year of school. You're about to enter the world on your own terms.

Ohhh. Obviously this is your wedding day. We all cried so much that day. With love, with joy and with anticipation that for you the best was about to begin.

We're so happy and honoured to be spending your birthday week with you and your family in Busselton, WA. Thanks for having us.

Thank you so much mum!

Happy my birthday y'all! xx

Love Pepper.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for the kind messages and emails you sent my Mum while I've been sick.

I am feeling a bit better today. I slept through the night last night, I ate a big breakfast this morning and I picked some flowers outside with Indi. I didn't let anyone wash my face for these photos, but I did do some drawings, scared my Mum when I was being a tiger and had a swing on the swing. If I have a nap after lunch then this afternoon we might go and play with Zero the puppy.

Oh and if you are wondering where my Mama is, she's guest blogging over at Lou Lou's today.

See ya.
Love, Pepper.

Friday six. (edited)

1) I made a bag late yesterday afternoon. I made it using fabric I bought at a garage sale not so long ago. My farmer boy doesn't like it. He says it looks like a skirt gone wrong. Maybe it does. I based the pattern on the handbag I use everyday. I think it'll make a good craft bag. The bag you grab when you leave the house in the hope that you'll get a chance for some craft on the go. It does have a very narrow opening though and I'm thinking of adding a zipper to make more room for rummaging around.

2) This week I have started adding a dollop of eucalyptus oil to my laundry. I love it! Instead of wearing musty, wintry, dried inside smelling clothes, we are walking around smelling fresh and clean like a forest. Its good for the sinuses too. I highly recommend it.

3) The farmer boy has had a skip delivered so I am going to spend the rest of the day sorting through house crap, trying to fill it before he does with farm stuff.

4) This stunning cloud necklace arrived in the post today. Christina made it. I won it over at her blog and she has a shop too. I wish I could describe to you how much I adore it and how perfect it is. Thank you so much Christina.

5) I love licorice and every Friday after we do our deliveries in town, we buy a block of this hard as a rock stuff to celebrate the end of the week and a job well done. Its break your teeth stuff and its delicious. Its Friday today! Yay! Gobble, gobble...

6) If you want number 6 you'll have to click on over to Susie's. I'm hanging out over there today doing show and tell.

Have a great weekend wont you. XX

Guest blogger.

I'm guest blogging over at Sparkle Power today.

Have you ever written a guest blog post?

To be honest, I found it quite a challenge.

When I write on my own blog, I assume the people who are going to read it already know a bit about me. I'm talking about you. You know that I adore being a mother but that sometimes it drives me insane, you know that I would rather sew than do housework, you know that a lot of the time I am happy but that sometimes I struggle and that most of the time I make it up as I go along.

But Candace lives in another country. Her readers have never heard about Daylesford Organics or Foxs Lane. What ever I wrote in my guest blog post is all they know about me.

On one hand it really doesn't matter.

But on the other hand I want my blogutation to be truthful. I wanted to portray an honest picture of what motherhood means to me.

All in one post.

So click on over to Candace's blog if you like and see what you think.

The mini tree dress and fancy undy bundies pictured are a present for a baby born a week ago. A baby I had no idea about because my phone had died and I didn't receive the text.
Thanks heaps Andi for leaving that comment and letting me know.
I have since put my sim card in Bren's ancient Nokia until my replacement iphone arrives.

The dress and bloomers were made from vintage sheets and I screen printed the tree back here, I used op shopped bias binding and button and crocheted ric rac.

I hope you have the greatest weekend.

If part of your weekend involves Mothers' Day, I hope it is fabulous.
We are postponing Mothers' Day until next month. In June it will be quieter here on the farm and I will be able to have a whole weekend dedicated to the celebration of me. Yay! I can hardly wait!
