Treasures.

Yesterday I felt so miserable and crappy that my bones ached. Too much bad news. The weight of the world and all that.

Today I feel sooooo different. I feel optimistic and sunny and good.

The sun is out, the girls are happily playing with a friend (a boy), and I'm about to pack a picnic for a fortieth birthday party.

And as well as the usual health and family and friends type of grateful stuff, on this Saturday I am also grateful for other people's trash. Trash that enables me to recycle rather than buy new, trash that inspires me and keeps my Everything but The Thread little business going and trash that is often so much more my style than the same thing in the modern version.

I am grateful magateful for market treasures like this jar of antique lace destined to grace the hems of pretty dresses and skirts and tops.

I am grateful for garage sale loot. Towels for the caravan, tea towels, table clothes and pillow cases for clothes making, pot holders for the wall and wool for some future fun project.

And I am grateful for generous and kind and gorgeous bloggers who send me their treasures out of the goodness of their hearts. I know you didn't do it for an official thank you Cherie but you are just too gorgeous! Thank you!

I hope you have the most wonderful weekend and have so much to be grateful for yourself.

Big love. X

It must be opposite day - yesterday I was all "Ooh, the sun is out & it's good to be alive!" today is more "...it's freezing & I am a big grump.".

    Oh well!

    Enjoy your weekend Lovely.

P.S. I think it's incorrect to call those treasures 'trash'. Whilst according to my dictionary trash means 'unwanted or undesired waste material' - and thus you've used the word correctly, Kate - it does have a negative connotation in terms of rubbish and garbage. Thats my view, anyway. x

  11. the last couple of weeks have made me stop and reflect and realise how incredibly grateful i am for all that i have - which by most people's standards is not much - to me I feel very, very rich :)
and i'm grateful for feeling grateful because life is much better when you can appreciate all you have.

I have a very emotional girl at the moment, who is zapping all my energy and patience.

Now a nice lot of vintage haby goodness certainly must make you feel better.

Hope the rest of the w'end is as bright.

What goes around comes around. I'm sure you've done your fair share of good. Kate, I'm visiting Dalesford in a week or so...I haven't been in some time, since Lark opened up actually. Any must sees? Or eats? Not sure many things will be open Easter Mon & Tue, it will be a nice break anyhow x.

  19. Try moving house (interstate) with a 4mth old bub who is teething and then almost slice the top part of your thumb off whilst unpacking and then said bub keeps grabbing the bandaged thumb. Ugh.
Can't wait to see the sunshine thru the treetops!
Love the jar of goodies - what a great find!
